Shadow
Walk-in, out
a sign, a time
thine own
renewed
thy new strength
revised
compromised
analyzed
appreciated
the direction of a choice
new day, new way
new identity
shadow....

Premium Member Gone: a Memory
You going to slip If you stay in
your corner
Your going to flip back
A dirty right angle
Your voice is gonna crack
Your words are gonna snap
If I have the opportunity
I can create a new identity
My voice only in your memory
You'll never see me again...

Today
Waking up every morning to a dream come true
Of someone else’s seed blossomed into a tree
To enjoy the cool shade of this magnificence
Bearing souls that have gained a new significance
And welcome the world to bask in the sun city
Of broken down shackles to find a new identity...

In a Golden Eye
Do you have to become what you observe
to really understand

To claim a new identity,
your psyche contraband

Must you pass straight through the mirror,
reflections left behind

To truly know what lies beyond
—whose essence you must find

(Bryn Mawr College: January, 2021)...

Tradition In Transition
Rome
A cat
Drowned

A middle ground
Of Europe
Searching for a new identity

A new entity
New parasite born

The King is dead
Long live The King

An image of filthy streets
Garbage
Rats

A new squalor
New age of technological progress

States rise and fall
And survive through art

Literature of hart
Paintings and machines
Bringing modernity's beginnings...

Premium Member In Time
In time the sun sets for the final time. Perhaps
A golden light illuminating secrets. Perhaps
the ghastly shade of red of the end. In time
everything will return to nothingness.

In time my memories will fade. Perhaps
I'll even wonder who I am. Perhaps
I'll even take on a new identity. In time
everyone is just a facade for the stars.

Stars cascade
In time over us
Salvation...

What's a Girl To Do
The skies are blue,
my heart is too,
so many problems,
what's a girl to do.
I think I'll move,
away from here,
and create a new ocean,
with all these tears.
Then I'll set sail,
on water I own,
to a place unheard of,
to a place unknown.
A new identity,
new clothes to wear,
and if I decide to,
I'll change my hair.
Headed south,
where the climate is warm,
just me, and myself,
and all my charm....

Attention

some time
 after our birth
our attention engages
in all of life's tracings..
we come to believe that
our experience is well
founded on
discrimination..

then stealthily
this healthy growth
seems accompanied by
a question of suffering
nagging and lagging
alongside..

something cries out
for new birth..in which
attention is swallowed
by a new identity
to which
our suffering has
always pointed......

Premium Member A Soul Grown Cold
A Soul grown cold repenting for the lies to come, lays cast in addiction laced stains of anguished fantasies. With a tortured logic knowing the only way out is further in, the Beast awaits its dawn, waking only to be fed again. A circle that never arcs, scheming to envisage a new identity. Withered and weary pretenses that are no longer attended, never ending till the last taste is savored. Maybe tomorrow... 02/26/2020

I Survived a Week
I survived a week..
a week in college.
This, I take as a great achievement.
I met fascinating people,
who seemed to take me in as one of their own,
professors from across the globe,
Things about me I wanted to forget,
already in the past,
as I forge a new identity...
as I learn from my mistakes,
and take a step towards my future...
I keep my fingers crossed, that the next 4 years,
will be as beautiful as the week that went by....

Premium Member Fox and Chicken
Fox and Chicken
thoughts these are
of fox and chicken..
predator and protector..
these are images of
our inner separation
the suffering we endure
as we identify with
these old beliefs..

we suffer as we search
for a restoration which
we know is near..
the fox and chicken
wait to be relieved
as the agents of
our long delusion..
which is promised
with the recognition
of a new identity
bathed in grace...

Premium Member The Journey
The Journey

what is The Journey..?
it is a perennial experience
in which we are observers
of that which moves
from time to time and
from place to place..
it is the discovery of
a new identity as
 timeless and placeless..
new lenses present
  times and places
 as temporary colorings
as appearances
in The Journey of
 freedom and creation..
former journeys of
 sights and sounds are
dissolved in a
dawning recognition:
The Journey is always
Here and Now......

Premium Member Herone Within Trumps Bad Label
A delicate ego, fragile, hypervigilant, easily broken.
	A frightened ego.
Hidden in self shadow, scared,
	Not easily lured out.

A well-built wall,
Constructed slowly, during hurt felt times.
A new persona. The protector, child’s own new identity.
	To keep herself safe.
	From the bad man.

Situation scary, heroine comes forward,
	Baring teeth, biting.
		Bad kid label.

Grownups misunderstand
	Frightened by her fierceness,
		Not recognizing a child
		Just trying to survive....
