Vibrant date palms
Swayed with the breeze
Hues of green and yellow
Mixed with red and brown
Lawns of soft green grass
Tingled my feet
Inviting me to sit on it
Smelling an occasional wild flower
The sound of the sea
The taste of salt
My eyes closed in a dream
My senses mingled with music
A shout from the pool
A splash in the sea
Sound of hooves on the stone
With them holding my hands.
I stood atop mountains, green to red, saying
to lightly skies "hello there" and "from
where do your winds come?" From where
do they come thought I in my heart
of hearts, inside which is harbor
to all inspiring things. It was at
that time I sought clarity, thanking
God for hills that ribbon-roll, and the
Atlas-who-shrugged touch of greenly breeze.
I stood there, atop mountains green to red,
and the wind answered me.
Loose green tendrils hanging low,
kiss the soft green earth, the bough
kneels with the wind
as if in prayer, a penitent so
humble and predictable, and
just the same as others of its kind;
a pliant bow
that's unreleased, yet like to spring
to heaven with a wish,
a stately, monumental king
of meadow and a murmuring stream,
in haze conceal'd, a misty dream,
a graceful monolith 'twould seem,
cloaked in a blue-grey hush.
There was this moment
When I was standing out side
With my yellow pop-sickle
In the rain
With tears running down my face
Staring at the forest green grass
When all of the sudden the green grass was gold
And I felt the rays of sunshine on my wet face
Yet the pearls of rain continued to fall
Matting my hair to my forehead
Soaking my half eaten pop-sickle
As I looked to the sky
With bloodshot puffy eyes
The sun was peeking from behind the storm
And I saw hope
