Descended an army of trucks.

She is a beautiful Sunday school teacher,
and for children a mild mannered preacher;
the commandments her special to feature; 
To explain, 
a commandment that honours father; mother,
then asks her class “do you know of another,
on how we should treat our sister and brother?”
A voice let out a shrill, 
“Thou shalt not kill!”

her personality was insipid.
she had a placid handshake
non-emotive, bland, little affect
she made mild-mannered look vibrant
we were stunned at Cousin Charley’s choice of mate.

we have never seen her smile
she could sober Stepford wives
How did our cousin fall for this creature?
None of us have ever figured it out.

    Barrel-chested Beets beat their chests like bass drums
  Soft-spoken Celery Sticks whispered soliloquies
    Mild-mannered Mushrooms spun themselves silly

           Not even legumes left behind
           Rootin'-tootin' Green Beans
            ~ by blaring trumpets designed
