Premium Member Cowboys

A crisp Outback day. . . .
Two jackaroos pause midstream.
Breathing in nature,
they hear cool rushing water
and feel the sun at their backs.

Written 2/21/12 and based on a picture
of Australian cowboys.

Horizons

Horizons
Tangerine realms carry you away
As you drift away to a brand new day.
Saffron memories release into midstream
As I kick the dust off my cowboy boots and lean.
Watching the sunset as I day dream.
Today was a good day, as I settle into me.

Happiness - II

Perennial, happiness stream flows,
Stagnant seem puddles of sorrows,
In river as are rocks
Stuck at midstream what mocks,
We know what sinks, what farther goes.

Poet's note: This may be called a limerick insofar as its construction goes, but not in mood.

Obstinacy

Be tender, with me?
in midstream.
I will not arrive.

Perversity was not
my virtue. I am still
burning on coals.

It was a disappearing act.
I become a brown rose
in your eyes.

The impacted glitch.
I was not deft
at the art of weaving a ritual.

I carry the dried skull,
of my unknown ancestor,
who would not come back to home.

Heart always tries
Hate always lies
Fear complies
Conundrum tears
fall midstream
Rationalization relents
Reason wins out
Confidence returns
Loss is gain
Less is more
Patterns lost
A better life ensues
Moments of abiding
Consciousness complete
Emptiness explained
Spiritual sailing
Means justify ends
Lie, Death we walk as one
We trip the Black hole together

Sunlit Roads

Sparkling midstream waves
cuddling the body
of the slender boat
swaying in the swell
of gurgling water

Steam from the cups
of warm brown tea
wetting the lips
with fleshy glee

Sunlit roads
brush the toes
street children

Pen seeks
pink sheet

Premium Member Regrets

atone for unseasoned blunders
for hearts bruised midstream
impassioned regrets amiss

in soulful waves of intent
on through the night
launch healing vibes

intoxicating perfumes
on a summer breeze
reach dormant minds

to dispel blemishes
spoils of the minds
cleanse and absolve

to wake fresh in the morn
heights of lungs imbued
with lofty mountain air

A long hard look softens to the touch
life lines rivers that ebbed and flowed
the midstream upstream fight
has left its nicks and scars
but the brooks that babbled batting lashes
that sent splashes over laugh line rapids
and pooled in floods of pain
have all eventually
come to swirl
in the curled corners
of an ultimately unerodible smile

Premium Member Learning Great Lessons of Life

Being a check out girl was not my ultimate dream.
But I learned to be polite and respectful in midstream.
My next job was as a teacher’s helper, not ideal at all.
But the lessons I learned there were certainly not small.

I had twenty-seven jobs before I got a college degree.
Learning how to be humble, kind, sincere, and free.
Each job helped me on my road to my career you see.
If you saw how well I do my day-to-day, you would agree.

Sometimes I think, what might have been
Some choice I made, once way back when
A chance I took, to chase a star
Not caring then, how long, how far

Should I have stopped, went back to start
At least went back and got my heart
I've never been one. to stop midstream
I risked it all, to pursue my dream

I see what is and where I am
Now I don't have a tinker's damn
But in for a pound, in for a penny
Hindsight's always twenty twenty

Verities

The moon was moving
stealthily in wilderness.
Time was running out
tracing the shape.

I let her go, the
comely thing, putting on
hold, the teetering
poem.

Running faster than light, the
words catch you in midstream.
A warlord wants to put on
a helmet in night.

It was raining sparks and
cinders. You walk along the
redoubts, obliterating
simmering footsteps.

I am not a loser
dancing in the pit of snakes.
Bring the sweetness of venom.
I am alive.
