Beyond my wood lot filled,
with snow so deep it chilled.
I watched young mink at play,
Paying me no heed this day.
Fulfilling their place in life,
oblivious of man made strife.
Their not mine I can plainly see,
But on loan from, God, to me.
With a man sized urge to gloat,
the sun glistening off their coat.
Saying, God, how can this be?
