The Maestro Fiasco

The maestros affair was very slick
but one night he forgot the lipstick
wife took one peek
saw lipstick on his cheek
saying its now time to face the music.

India's Mukesh, Kavi Pradeep, My Death

No argument, no caste, nothing will matter
When India's erstwhile maestros sang in Hindi
Though mine is sparse, their songs made me traditional
O cultural shell! Wired so Indian, South African me
Millions in India, thanks Bollywood, will still sing along

No Puedo

No puedo
Porque no entiendo.

Espanol es mas dificil
Pero todos se dicen es facil.

No pienso es la verdad,
Porque hay mas gentes en la ciudad,

Quien no pueden hablar
Pero los maestros ensenar.

Los estudiantes toman este clase,
Y despues de dos anos es bastante.

Day 2
TODAY

Today we fondly think
In a collective link
Deep beyond the brink

Today our broken hearts
Mourn our maestros' last part
Living legacy starts

Today an old book ends
Our sad faces attend
To mourning ritual trends

Hippy hyena hid hipster hippo’s hysteria.
Ignominious iguana ignored Iceland’s icky industries.
Jovial jelly jars joyfully jumped jubilantly into June.
Kind kangaroos killed Kansas’s killjoy kindnesses.
Loving lithe llamas languished, lacking lonely leaders.
Marvelous magnificent magicians masqueraded as maestros.
Needless nutcrackers helped hippy hyenas hide hippos’ hysteria.

Leaders

Trailblazers and bellwethers
who conduct with dignity
are these noble maestros
who shepherd people.
Honorable and selfless
luminaries are these bold
inspirers of confidence.
Captains of courage
who lead by example.
Directors who orchestrate,
motivate, excite and
spark others to follow.
Emanate role models
of noteworthy distinction.
These are leaders,
champions of the best
who are as rare
as they are great.
