As I lay here all alone
On this dark and dreary night
I'm happy to be at home
And tucked up nice and tight
I know I'm luckier than some
As I wish with all my might
That all my find a home
On this dark and dreary night.
Form:
Be wary
be chary
Life's scary
beware
O, faint-hearted one
please reject this advice
Don't be afraid
to roll the dice
Life comes around
just once as they say
The more things you try
the luckier your day
Comfy cat did not watch the news.
Did not worry about robberies or home invasions.
Slept soundly through sirens, whistles and police chases.
Rolled around the bed in happy uninhibited ways.
Luckier than any human in history.
Many days
of the year
were so sad.
This day should
be the happiest
for us.
My roses are
all the promises
to come.
They aren't
as precious as
real diamonds.
The flame of
this true passion
they feed.
No lover
is luckier
than I am.
I remain
your sweetest
Valentine.
To my future love,
one word is all I need
too many are spoken falsely
too many so sudden

Yes, I do have a black tie he said

His wife was not classy
Her gown was quite trashy
They were escorted to the flower bed
The next couple was luckier than that
They brought along a dog and a cat
hidden in their coats
Were put onto tugboats
Tossed out to sea past the graveyard flat
She was the bawdiest gal, they said.
Her eyes were green, her hair was red.
There were rumors of course
She rode nude on her pet horse
But we never knew her, for she was long dead.
You’re luckier for it, they told me.
She lived to be age eighty-three
She had a hankering
For all kinds of pankering
She was my Great-Aunt Norma Bea
Having everything you need,
how much richer could you get
Feeling everything God given,
how much luckier even yet
Knowing everything presented,
how much smarter might you be
Your life shared with then another

VISITING GRANDMA
At grandma’s house I am a queen
No luckier girl you’ve ever seen
I eat from willow plates so blue
And drink a coke or maybe two
She makes me tuna on nice bread
We sit together, napkins spread
She tells me stories, picks me flowers
These are my best and sweetest hours
I love her more than sun or moon
If I could sing-- she’d be my tune
What am I saving?
What did I come with?
What will I go with?
What is use of knowing?
Why we still are greedy?
What will end my search?
If knowledge doesn't do.
Sense of self, apart from body,
put by others and so on.
I often wish I was luckier.
But I am highly grateful too for whatever.
My dead face makes me shut up,
And pushes into a deep hole which has no end.
Next I turned my attention
To all the outrageous violence
That takes place on this planet
The tears of the victims, no one can comfort
The iron grip of oppressors, no one to rescue
So I applaud the dead who are already dead instead of the living
Who are still alive
But luckier than the dead or the living
Is the person who has never been
Who has never seen the bad business that takes place on this earth
Richer then poorest peasant more powerful then the wealthiest king. I consider myself luckier than anything. And, because of that I wouldn't trade any of my wonderful friends for anything. Through thick and thin they have been there through it all, never failing in their support. Giving guidance and advice wether it was welcome or not. So no matter the reason I would accept no else in the world but my wonderful friends.
Born to the best mom on this beautiful mother earth
I was little luckier then the rest
Simply successful school life
Followed by flourishing fun at college
Getting married to my mate from childhood
Filled my life with love and merriment
Working as a teacher who is favorite of all
Mother to two daughters who are now not too small
My story might seem like a joyride
But trust me, it was full of jolts and jerks

As I thanked God, it was the best
Showing gratitude towards humanity, it is the best
Feeling that someone or something was looking over
Luckier than a four leaf clover
I was happy, it was true
Don't want to feel bad, don't want to feel blue
But be grateful, it's nice to say the least
To not say bad things, don't be a beast
Look at the good and not the bad
Say everything is cool to people, it is rad
Get away from the negativity
And just be happy, don't be bad
