A coalminer by trade Norman Cornish*
in his forties achieved his artistic wish
Like Lowry, at the end of his working day
locals&locality depicted in his own stylised way

A thought at daybreak
These come
as sunrise or memory
or hurricane
from where we know not
seemingly from out there
in this or that locality..
We back away..
We do know that
a thought
merely passes through
and very soon departs..
In passing it colors
what we recognize as
I am here and now...
Incantations, Acclamation's
Wicked whispers searing malicious lips
As thou wrench in Satan's slumber
Dream incest, unholy unrest
in a night of crimson passion
Weigh upon me your Godly visit
with a Saint to my own be true
Yet faint in my heart and love torn apart
I'll always be dreaming of you
signal non-locality
We are all places, barring
That one locality
Fulfillment-ripe, in reach of.
Wish's sunned; and lazy!
The soul of disenchantment;
And the bane of us all!
Haunted, from o'er the next hill
By its lone-sounding call.
Who is the phantom, but lives
His own true self not in!
For what's forced on its esteem
In facade's see-through grin.
Jerry, a jim-dandy jezebel in a jerkwater town,
Jiggled her jangles, joking her jubilant ways up and down.
Juicily Junoesque and jocular, Jerry jawed with the best.
Such jiggery-pokery was soon put to this jerky town’s test.
Jailbirds jammed the sidewalks to see Jerry walk by.
Her jabberwocky jabbering gave them a reason to sigh.
A jaunty jokester with joyous absolute joviality,
Jerry was accepted as the jubilant jezebel of this locality.
