The Return of Harmony

Nature has put on her fllamboyant
dress of white and pink flowers
that spread a delicate scent
to liven up melancholic eyes.

Wintering Atmosphere

Wintering atmosphere,
times without sun,
fierce cold wind blowing,
Frost sad weather...
 Helpful fireplace lit,
Hot chocolate,
bubbly soup,
perfume
environment... !
liven up life!

going out on the town
exploring every corner
savouring local cuisine
enjoying every morsel

biting into life's pleasures
a glass of favourite wine
lively ethnic music
getting into the mood

sitting on a terrace
as the sun sets by the sea
waiting for nightfall when
things will really liven up

Premium Member The Much-Maligned Blue Jay

The blue jay is a handsome bird
though that is oft the one nice word
you'll read about this robber of other
birds' nests ~ this handsome pest

You're a beacon of color on a bleak winter's day
despite what we read about 'amoral ways'
So here's to you, Mr. Jay, you liven up winter
even if your daily routine I can't print here

Premium Member Jiggly Wiggly Giggly Glee

Jiggly wiggly giggly glee
Trying to liven up my life with some free
Ugly Covid bad mood was my yesterday’s fee
Today I will have more fun than a satisfied queen bee.
Come by if you can at a quarter to three.
You can polish off this meatloaf and chili with me.
I could use your phone number.
You are not on the phone tree.
Jiggly wiggly giggle glee.

Premium Member Liven Up the Dead

Men grunting
Mothers sighing
All wailing
for the willing soul
With a lamenting pitch
As he renders
a resounding call
With a rising Crescendo
Prising into every heart
Wriggling while thrusting away
 from this wanton emptiness
Seeking relief amidst his mortal folks
Hailing his willingness to abide
As they rove around
Daring fate to his face.

Today

The groundhog said we’ll soon have spring
And later we’ll hear JoLo sing.
In Melbourne, Novak’s still the king
On this, a gloomy Sunday.

Impeachment’s hit a welcome pause
While Dershowitz invents new laws
Yet I am happy, just because
Today will be a fun day.

The grands will pay a visit soon
To liven up the afternoon.
To have them here is such a boon
It’s like a prize I’ve won day!

Premium Member Guitarists Four of Day of the Dead

On day of the dead Daddy hired the guitarists four
to liven up November first a tiny bit more
they came to our house and sat on our couch
one of them complained of comfort yelling out “ouch!”

I know what you mean, I said. I hate that spring too.
They played me a song – “Rapsody Day of the Dead blue”
My mother told me to stop making fun of her furniture though.
By the November second, they had returned down below.

Can Love Golfing Game Haiku

Can Love Golfing Game Haiku

Golfing we will go
On great course that we all know
Will be fast not slow.

Game is never grim
Sand traps are a minimum
And other obstacles.

Broke a rule or two
To liven up my haiku
Bring it some justice.

According to all
Of my great calculations
Handicap is low.

Great golfers will be
And then maybe you and me
Can love our own game.

James Thomas Horn
But I am not a golfer.
Oh, dear.
