Saintly Glow

Holy Saints light the way
Illuninating a path to salvation
Leaded glass aglow
Matching waxy aroma
Prayers to cleanse a soul
Burning through darkest night

In Dream

Blue bells swayed,
I felt no breeze,
as I walked, I walked.

It was in dream
but the aroma, oh,
so familiar.

Then a moment,
just as time,
I swam through
clouds.

I tried to run
but leaded feet
kept me at heel.

Trump Not Level Headed

Trump Not Level Headed

Looks like Trump was not level headed;
Knowledge in brain deeply embedded;
Did hear hint;
He is ignorant;
Toss him overboard with feet leaded.

The Sowing

A penumbra of lightning
grays your belly,
a huge melon
framed in leaded glass windows.

It grows
as we move in night's soft storm,
air piquant with rain, legs
petrified tree roots
in this patch of bed,
farmers in the night
      coming back to the land.

The Mirror

Rumi said,
“Polish the mirror of your soul
that it might better reflect God.”

An antique hand mirror,
the leaded glass is warped,
its wooden and carved frame cracked
yet keep polishing it.

One day hope to see
what has always
been in front of your face.

The Charm of the Woods

Huddled within a canopy of trees
cozily wrapped inside a wooden cabin
earthy womb of must, dirt and dust
leaded glass windows set the scene
shadow and light dance through the pines
tea kettle whistles over a crackling fire.

Starving Artist

Crouched in an alley
Cold unwelcoming cobblestone
Raindrops keep him half awake
Stayed up all night sipping coffee
Finishing touches to canvass of
Bluebird skies and sailing ships
Those holding umbrellas pass by
Look - and move on through
November's leaded skies...

Hands of Victor Jara

So much to greet
with leaded hands,
so many observed you later
sans life...
Shot so much
 arms in the wind
in so many sentimental
goodbyes ,
so much to have lived ...
of so much life in waves,
 lacked hands
to applaud your
own life...
 lacked scarves
for so much weeping ...
We were without gestures,
no hands...
and hands were
everything you had,
 hands were
your love and your
sustenance ...!

Fill it With Ethyl

Conceded to what the Doctor said

Said needed to squat over my head

Except for that Gecko

He just heard an echo

Said need to feed your Head more Un-Lead...
                                                                             Lead...
                                                                                     lead...
                                                                                            leaded!

Once more

I can hear it crawl towards me
In the infinite moving dark
Claw turns to slither
Echoes without placement
Each sound closer than the last
My heavy breath giving voice
Breath cool on my face
Rancid in deceit
If I open my eyes
I can give my fear form
Not a muscle working in unison
Eyelids like ancient divers leaded boot
Stuck in the silt
Heart and breath in explosive race
Face to something not quite face
Don’t look
Let me see suns grace
Once more

New Year

New me, New Year, hey
New moment day
New hour, new way
Something more to say in a new way
New year, same Jesus
New life in Christ, believe it
Same God, at odds, With sinful manage
Nothing new under the sun
Nothing beginning that's already been begun
Was hurting was sadden
By the life I leaded
I was sorrow and blue
Was introduced to you
New moment, New second,
New minute, can see it
New hour, New day,
New month, new way
Same Jesus, same God, here
New me, New Year
