The lady of the house well-bred
There was her family's wealth
She couldn't tame her country man
Even though she tried with stealth
Her actions made you quiet, shy
But I saw buried gold
You were a natural great pearl
New treasure to behold
That’s the best spa of all the sparrow said.
She hopped right in, with her cousin Fred.
Fred hopped back out, It’s too hot! He lamented.
She loved a margarita bath, she felt fermented.
The mud facial on her face soon slid down.
It rolled into the bubbles, which now turned brown.
My drink! Yelled the lady of the house, she was not happy.
“No big deal!” tweeted out my sparrow friend, we called her Sappy.
I would like two of those I told the lady of the house.
I was staring at her two mushroom plant holders.
I can pay whatever you want, I told her.
I could tell that she was pleased.
I made them myself, she informed me.
But I am saving them for my children, she acknowledged.
I knew her children pretty well.

At their garage sale
The wild turkeys disappeared

I wonder if the former
lady of the house baked pumpkin pie.
She didn’t leave so much
as her reflection
in a mirror, on a window pane.
We live like birds here
in our seasons.
