John Winston Ono Lennon
From Britain to Brooklyn, decked in denim
Controversial through his peace and political activism
Felled by Mark David Chapman's act of barbarism
in a perfect world
imagine all the people
living life as one

Imagine there's no cupcake
Someone in the house ate yours
No Krispy Kremes or KitKats
No pudding pops or s'mores
Imagine there's no halva
Behind cupboard doors, oo hoo oo.
I would IMAGINE that such wisdom will always be remembered with emotion

"All you need is love" Songwriters: Paul McCartney / John Lennon
I don’t need what you call love.
All I need is:
Honesty,
Thoughtfulness,
Kindness,
And Respect.
Jeweled lights are blinking
Jaunty tunes fill the room
Johnny B. Goode with Chuck
Jumpin' Jack Flash with Mick
Jerry Lee Lewis wails
John Lennon twists and shouts
Jitterbug all night long
Was John Lennon
crossing the line,
mucking about,
burning his bridges,
or bucking the palace,
a fine sign of the times
then, in 1969,
not often seen,
when returning his MBE
to The Queen?
A hot summer afternoon
A news flash around noon
John Lennon shot dead
For infamy instead
Mark Chapman for the kill
For him just the thrill
And we lost a treasure
Gone from the world forever.

In another time and place
Music continues to play
As John Lennon caresses his keys
Giving sweet tunes away
If one day I meet him there I will have a smile
Ninety minutes a day would be my slice of heaven
Enjoying listening to him play
(From Skiffle to Fame)
Quarrymen were a group
Quite good oldies do say
Quirky to the youth now
Quaint compared to these days.
Quoth Sir Paul McCartney
Quips John Lennon as well
Question’s metamorphosis.

Listening through the words in a Beatles song
written by John Lennon
I thought of music but it's hard to construe
without thinking of the blues
If everything was art
you would be in a better place
to start
but your not
you go through time
like an echo
What great impact the Beatles had on popular music
Their influence on the pop scene reflected our moral fabric
The killing of John Lennon in 1980
Caused such grief, this horrific tragedy
Here's my salute to the Fab Four for providing such unparalleled acoustics

Jim Morrison,
How sore the drugs made him,
Kurt Cobain,
Passed at the hands of the vain,
John Lennon,
Met insanity’s venom,
Heath Ledger,
His daughter, he left her,
Brandon Lee,
Met his father’s fate,
I haven’t realized to this date,
Why awe-inspiring people,
Seem to pass when-
We least expect it.

John Lennon died on this day
Chapman shot and blew him away
So sad a man of peace is killed so violently
You see killing can be done so easily
When someone wants to be known by all
Get a gun and kill fame is at your call
Now the 8th December is the day
John Lennon is remembered shot down that way.

Forty years ago today
Was when John Lennon died.
The world was shocked and saddened
Watching peace and death collide.
My dad was in the hospital –
His triple bypass failed –
So while all John’s fans were mourning,
My entire life derailed.
Two deaths forever intertwined
With tragic disbelief
Will always bring me, on this date,
Back to that searing grief.
Remember our daughters
Remember our sons
Reserve this world
for the future ones.
The tearing of nature
and our beautiful land
The polluting of air
that I cannot stand.
Let's live in harmony
Let's live with feeling
Not with astrology
or the fortune tellers dealing.
Remember John Lennon
the love he would send
to the young and the old
till his life it did end.

This is a poem
to bring Peace
to all the World
Can it help?
I hope so
It is long overdue
As John Lennon expounded
the World needs Peace
We can do it
If we put our
energies and minds to it
The USA can
lead the way
if we got some
innovative and enthusiastic leadership
In today's World
it seems like it's
a far and distant concept
But it can be done
with strong beliefs
and actions
he's a sweet harmonica home Joe
soft steel raven, bending blues
dripping honey from her spoon
nothing quite says melancholy
like a harp in cupping wah-wah glow
for endless grooves, a winding show
playing Take Me Home Country Road
and Lennon's riff in Love Me Do
with gracious silk, a satin throw
a trip to the moon in a single note
around the cosmos, her kiss, I know
our love, warm lips, harmonica Joe

kaka dada mama baba,
nawatakia mengi mafanikio.
nahisi kama Jimi Hendrix,
back in 69 huko woodstock,
ama king Bob Marley in 79 santa barbara.
vibe ilikuwa safi pia,

Many years ago, there was an envious man
lurking in John Lennon's Garden.
Disillusioned- dirty -confused.
John came out of his mansion and chatted with him for a bit.
Explaining that he was just an ordinary bloke.
Who wrote songs and was nothing special.
John invited him in for a bite to eat.
The man dined with the Lennons and seemed at peace.
"Imagine", treating a grubby waif like a king.
The band John Lennon
formed, called The Quarrymen
played half skiffle and
half rock and roll.
Four years later in
nineteen sixty, the band
evolved into The Beatles
with five men lineup.
John, Paul, George, Stuart,
who died and Peter,
replaced by Ringo were
nicknamed The Fab Four.
Their arrival here sixty
years ago, this month
triggered cultural and musical
movement, the British Invasion.
