Quest

(From Skiffle to Fame)

Quarrymen were a group
Quite good oldies do say
Quirky to the youth now
Quaint compared to these days.
Quoth Sir Paul McCartney
Quips John Lennon as well
Question’s metamorphosis.

Well done Harry. Really good use of the letter. If it's for a contest hope it's a winner. God Bless, JB

love this fun piece - yes, i wonder if the Quarrymen would have been the most popular band ever! i tried to comment on your whispering fern piece but wasn't able to (I get that prob a lot, where I can't type in the validation box, for some reason) - loved that poem too, my friend - very descriptive

Happy days Harry, 'In spite of all the danger // In spite of all that may be // I'll do anything for you, anything you want me to // If you'll be true to me' I'm listening to them in this moment. Thank you for opening new eyes, you're a true visionary. -Richard https://youtu.be/RuuOAA9ekbg

What were these quarrymen seeking? A vein of gold or diamonds? Enjoyed reading your work. Thanks for the time spent reading my work. Sara

Hello Harry ... you certainly made a fine verse with the difficult choice of beginning each line with the letter Q - well done Harry - Lindsay

You made the Q's easy, Harry, I haven't tried it, I just can't come up with anything. Good luck in the contest. Hugs Eve

Never heard of the Quarrymen until just now (precursor to the Beatles, eh? ... interesting). Melody and music-wise, I think the Beatles are great (not sure if I can say the same for the lyrics, except for a choice few). You did a pretty good job with this poem, picking a very tricky letter. I think the line that sticks with me most is the last one. Different questions, through out time, making different music. Most modern radio (in my opinion) isn't too great.

It would be hard to make a coherent poem about xylophones, xanthan gum and x-ray machines! LOL!

WoW! Harry, You rose to the occasion with the letter Q and hit the ball out of the park. You made it look easy. The one I started was a train wreck, lol! Well done. Have a great evening:-) Alexis

The times are a changin, or maybe just going through that metamorphosis, and I think Paul and John's music is timeless, I like the use of the work 'quirky' in this too!
