Premium Member Fans Head For the Exits Happy

The mighty slugger saunted to the plate
The sun dipped in the sky, 'twas getting late
First he swung and he missed
But the next pitch he 'kissed'
Out of the park ~ onto the Interstate

Premium Member Bridge Opening

Bridge
opens
ships passing
hazy river
lazy afternoon
interstate traffic flow
commerce never gets hindered
regardless any human toll
expendable drones toil away
pandemic death march steady undeterred

Untitled

Rollin down the interstate
Listen to the music play
Only with you on my mind
Wanting to hear your voice
No one around
I shed tears
Missing you more
Praying you heal
So I can hear you say
I love you..

Premium Member Why

Why does Hawaii have an interstate highway?
and why do the Flintstones celebrate Christmas anyway?
Why doesn't Tarzan have a beard? Why are nickels bigger than dimes?
Why do I continue acting weird, asking stupid questions all of the time?

Best Friend In the City

City limit signs,
Yellow dotted lines,
Baking in the heat,
Brown leather seats,
Miles of road ahead,
Been 19 hours since I rolled out of bed.
Cities blurring together,
Driving fast on the interstate,
With my eye on the weather,
I can’t wait to see her.

Premium Member Meeting a Young Lover At the Airport

Summer night pulsing
Streak of jets landing
Sapphire lights winking

Minds ricocheting
Lovers embracing
Cologne, silk caressing

Muscle maneuvering
Luggage uplifting
Strength celebrating

Interstate soaring
Windows, dash, dancing
Jazz and soul rocking

Frequency sampling
Circuits infusing
Earth-force vibrating

That Night

I remember that night
Shattered by your demon glare
Burning my soul as you stare
Freeze dried on the road
There goes all hope,
suffocated by your black soul
Road kill on the interstate
Tears spewing from my eyes
Images of the past, flashing
before my eyes. All the fights
Every hateful word,
Hell is all you deserve.

Premium Member Living in the Midwest

Several semis have jack-knifed
The blizzard has made the air fog-like
Highway patrol has closed the interstate down
Electric cars cannot run in this weather
There is treacherous black ice
Many pile ups of cars, some injured, eight dead
Frostbite is waiting around the corner to set in
Tell me again why we live in the Midwest?

Premium Member Long As You'Re Living

Quiet morning.
Successful surgery.

No tv!
Watch weather.

Do nothing.
Be nameless.

Suppose cows.
Scare crows.

Harmless habits.
Armless robot.

Like a delusion.
A late night movie.

Expect to forget
and be forgotten. Information.

Interstate.
Toilet seat.

How soon after cryogenesis
can one cry or ejaculate?

Premium Member Interstate 94 Is On the Map

I am sure Interstate 94 is on that map!
My husband is getting impatient now.
I have been telling him for an hour.
I am not good at reading maps.
He is finally paying attention.
“It is NOT ON HERE!” I yell.
He finally pulls off at an exit.
“This is an Indiana map! We are in Michigan!”
That would explain my confusion for the last hour.

Premium Member A Wait on the Interstate

What the heck's the matter with you mate,
And why are you on the interstate?
I'm growing increasingly irate.
That's why your driving I will berate,
If you don't quickly increase your rate.
Next, I'll pull all the hair out of my pate.
God forbid that I should have to wait.

Premium Member I had big plans today

I had big plans today
so far, I have accomplished none of them.
I hope to do a better job tomorrow.
Going on a six-hour trip interstate to interstate.
driving from Kansas City to Iowa City to see my twin sister.
The ultimate goal is to celebrate our 73rd birthday together.
I am resting up today, readying myself for this horrific car ride.

Death Door

Linda-Marie The Sweetheart of P.S. Contest Name LIFE AND DEATH ...AND BEYOND.. Death is but a distant shore, where we go to, when shuts the door, of ignominity, reside we do, this other place, reach back for 2 communicate, and there we get the difficulty, we're interstate:) in dubious illiteracy.... thanks Russell.... Premium Member I used to drive like that

Driver on interstate has pressed his accelerator hard
I used to drive like that – daily
To and from work with gritted teeth
Expecting death at any minute
Racing here, there, nowhere really
The stress was gruesome
In the last nine months I have driven six times
Less than one time per month
Retirement is a happy unicorn that I am grateful to lie on
