When finding your identical twin,
There’s always trial and error.
But I’ve taken a shortcut:
By looking into the mirror!

A Priest Feast

Joy counted her lovers by tens
Including identical twins
What Joy found fun
Was quickly done
For she loved confessing her sins!

Premium Member Any Ideas of Their Own

looking
similar
identical too
twins you say? Well sure they are…
Do they have any ideas of their own?
The outside rarely reflects the person within; we are each our own person,
even a twin.

Premium Member Are You Identical Twins

Are you identical twins? The school teacher asked.
I am not impressed, slightly stuplified and aghast.
They are boy and girl twins, you idiot I want to say.
But I have used up all of my insult quota until next Wednesday.

Love's Language

A heart that speaks fluently
feelings sing aloquently
love
love
becomes a hymn
eyes shaped like identical twins
the heart knows the melody
dancing
dancing
like a dove on its birthday:
coo
coo
loves vibration
it's a romantic language.

Premium Member Identical Twins

Identical twins have a mystical language no one else knows.
They can catch each other’s eyes and laugh forever.
One is dependent, wants to dress alike until they are a hundred.
Her twin is the boss, and does not want to dress alike at all.
They send and receive indecipherable silent messages.
Sharing a womb and a family has bonded them forever.

Premium Member Get a Sitter Daddy Said

Get a sitter Daddy said.
Mom tried the four they knew.
None would come back.
We had played the trick on all of them.

We are identical twins.
One of us would yell “Sissy is running away!”
The sitter would chase them from front door to back door.
Once the twin was inside, the other twin would lock the back door too.

Both twins in.
Baby sitter outside.

Premium Member Hey Brown Twins

There go the Brown twins, the Brown twins.
Hey, Brown twin, want a ride?
Hey, Brown twin, how does it feel to see double?
He, Brown twin, do you chew Double Mint gum?

At first as a twin, you are a novelty.
You either like the attention or despise it.
I loved it in kindergarten but despised it in first grade.
In kindergarten we were smaller and got carried around by classmates.

Premium Member Bones Blood and Dna

Average person has two hundred and six bones.
Not all of us have the same, we are unique you know.
More sesamoids are lingering in some of our homes.
Varying in size and number, some more apt to glow.

From person to person, is our blood even truly the same?
Is Type A in me the same exact Type A in you?
What about identical twins, and the DNA game?
Are their fingerprints often identical too?

Premium Member Intriguing If You Are An Identical

when I research I sometimes stumble upon
interesting facts that intrigue me, that delight me
children of identical twins, their babies, their spawn
are genetically half-siblings;, this is how it can be….
their parent derived from one single DNA egg
that split into two people, fresh break, all frayed
intriguing if you are indeed an identical twin
which I am, so this fact was definitely a great big win

No Two the Same

The Bible says the Father
Numbers the hairs upon our head
Even when we whisper
He hears the words that's said

We're made in our Father's Image
But we're as different as can be
He gave us all free will to choose
Our own identity

God numbers every snow flake
And He makes no two the same
Even identical twins
Will have a different name

For to God there is none like you
Not even one resembling
So work out your soul's salvation
With Godly fear and trembling

Premium Member For Brides We Barely Knew

green chiffon prom dresses for my identical twin and myself
Spent most of the summer of seventy, not on a hanger or shelf
First there was prom, but then we were in a wedding or two
Ending up being bridesmaids for brides we barely knew

This is what happens when everyone wants twins in their wedding
Those green chiffon dresses we barely were shedding
We finally started offering to share the dresses with others
No. They want identical twins too, said the brides' insistent mothers.
