Just Curious About the Good People

Do preachers take vacations?
And if they do
What do they DO?

Where do they go
to not drink
or smoke
not dance
not gamble
or bang a headboard or two.

I geuss they go to church...

My Noisy Toilet

Just a thin wall dividing my headboard from the john,
every night it played me a continuos running water song,
so got up and closed the valve,
my problem now temporarily solved,
posting a note on the lid, "don't resuscitate until dawn!"

Ménage À Trois (Alone In a Hotel Room At 1 Am)

Thin walls reveal, too well,
the aspirations of my neighbors.

Quiet moans mingle
with the drone of TV,
a strange mélange of real
and imagined eroticism.

As their headboard
bangs a jumbled tattoo,
I join them, gasping
like a hooked carp at our shared
moment of completion.

I wonder if they
search for a tissue,
too.

Wall

I lie down in my four-poster bed,
facing the pale yellow wall.

The same that I see above,
behind my headboard,
opposite me.

I drown in the sickly pale.

I dare not turn around
to face the wall again.

Little do I notice
the little window behind -
rays of sun streaming through
little glass panels -

Gentle apricity grazing its
little window sill.

Threadbare

Wear thy breast thin, now rest thy cheeks rosy upon my armored chest smashing the headboard, tea cozy Now we play ring around the rosary In me embedded, stroking silk strands of my hair Thoughts growing so hazy, day dream dozy Your fiery eyes keep me toasty now roaming kisses quest our lips mosey mounting crest Last test Bare

The Consprator

This must be when the lights tiptoe silently through the no go areas,
when it's dismal and grey and rain's in for the day and you're in for the day as well.

some days are as near to hell as near can be or as near as I see that they could be and
some days are brighter
lighter
filled with joy,
full of glee

this is me full of woe
no places to go to
and nothing to do
but tap on the keyboard.
when
scratching my name on the headboard
gets tiring.
