Haiku
Patience is our friend,
Because its true, haste makes waste,
More patience, less haste.
I took my time
And saved my dimes
So I could buy
The best of rhymes
But in my haste
I gave away
The best of all
That I had saved
From my first rhyme
To the last dime
Every bit of it
That I could find
Then remembered Ben
One time did say
Haste makes waste
I'm afraid..
first " there's not time like the present" then they say "haste makes waste"
then "don't put off until tomorrow what you can do today"
"the more things change the more they stay the same" some say
and in the next breath"tomorrows another day"
they say "if it don't happen naturally then leave it"
then "if at first you don't succeed try try again "can you believe it?
Form:
Hot peppers and spicy horseradish
a gut-punch to the solar plexus
Snake venom with moldy cheese
not tonight, if you please...
Tadpole skins and locust larvae
strains my stomach of iron
But a bloody Mary eggnog combo
gags the esophagus of this Hawaiian
Wonder how I developed my bizarre sense of taste?
~ A flush of the toilet for whoever said, 'Haste makes waste'
< One by one they'll shall roll on and come
Like soldiers marching to beaten drums
Echoes are acknowledge
Cast across thy arched bridge
