Premium Member In Rememberance Of

Arrogance, sarcasm and suggestive wit,
Some people in this world I admit,
Think is so cool and fun,
But actually in the long run,
One day they go too far, and have to quit.

Back on track, fell off the wagon for a bit The break did me good, gave me a lift Didn't suffer weight wise Same slender thighs Onward and upward didn't go too far adrift

Disturbing Dance

how it is on the floor of dance, the touching feeling sweet romance, disturbing of the slumbering lance, will he go too far this time, perchance, the question keeps arising... Don Johnson re : "A Risque Ballroom Dance" Anne Currin

At Our House

Mama's in the kitchen
Frying chicken, golden brown
Smothering cabbage
Just rushing around...
Cutting out home-made biscuits
With a jelly jar
Telling us kids
Not to go too far.
Oven's breathing fire
for candied sweets
Oozing in cinnamon and
Butter,
And until I eat,
Not another word
Will I utter!

Do Not Go Too Far

Do not go too far unnecessarily
So to unable to be followed by others
There you do not go where you are only one
Lonely and alone
Do not walk the road even a step on which
You don’t get any companion
As you know even to do things wrong
Persons are needed at least two
One is for doing the act
And the other for being acted upon

To An Extraordinary Lady

You are unique in all you do,
even the darkened sky remains blue:
to allow the stars to stand out
as those radiant eyes of woman
that shine more than them at night!
Dream and make wishes before dawn;
let them flee to your nearest star,
but ask them not to go too far!

My poem is dedicated to Carolyn Devonshire
on her birthday.

Premium Member Borderlands

Out here in these shadowy lands
No other soul to be found
Where I walk endlessly along the border
And find myself camping alone
Like Jesus must have done
Maybe this a place even He won’t go
They say if you go too far in you’ll burn up
But I’ve seen some come back across
Somehow changed
They’ve all become their scars

Time

Legs' crossed and in a quite corner,
turning a page of an old borrowed book,
with wonders in your eyes,
A quick turn of an hour glass,
took you away.

And a travel can go too far,
to the blues and jazz - the feet can dance.
Spinning around to the ticking clock,
Giggling to a joy of a masquerade ball,
Come back my dear,
you've been gone too long.

Warning

An Attempt to betray the one you hold dear.
Turns the tides on you good sir I fear.
Truth behold your chances are slim.
Energy its self will not bend to your whim.
Monsieur I bid thee to not waste your breath.
Perchance the betrayer become the betrayed.
Time and time again you will be constrained.
Endless times I have seen it before.
Detest before you go too far.

Bobby

I've known you for a long time now
and i still can't express my true feelings to you
Love is hard with you
It seems like everything i do is wrong
I just can't do this anymore
What if you were to leave me?
We've been friends for a year now
and i think it's time for you to know that
i've been secretly in love with you
This will not go too far
But i just had to say...
I Love You...

Fallen Angel

Too many Worlds collide when
(street echoes)
Too many dancers appear
yet she moves fair to show
Shes just a fallen Angel
with a certain spark
Too many people have
tried to change her
Shes not a Saint Joan
they have failed
Shes tries to keep the moment flowing
for the man who would be King
She likes to go too far
Don't blame her for turning out the night
The wound is for real

Five Young Children

Five young children.
Lost and alone.
No one to care for them.
No one home.

Where are their parents?
Sitting in the bar.
Once the drinks have all been poured,
The fights will go too far.

Remember those poor children
waiting there at home.
They're too young to change their lives
or live them on their own.

Are there other children?
Lost and alone?
No one to care for them?
No one home?

Reassurance

At night I close my eyes
Though they are full of tears
I see your gorgeous face
Which helps to calm my fears.

I try to understand
Why this is how things are
But deep inside I’m scared
Afraid it will go too far.

I fear you won’t come home
Home means back here to me
With me is where you belong
You know we are meant to be.

I need your reassurance
As often as can be
That you will be home soon
With little Duffy and me.

Going and Coming

Being a pedestrian
walking with a mixed-up, on the go
purposeful pack of other walkers
and me being aimless,
having no set destination,
yet not wanting to go too far,
because then it would be a long way
back to get back.
I the odd one in,
stop in my invisible tracks,
taking stock,
while the crowd,
(some going, some coming back),
urgently shove their way past me,
and I now know,
what a business meeting feels like
when there is nobody there.

Competition Limerick

You’ve pushed the boat out once again
You’re out there on the beach
With the one you chose
 to exchange your vows
Were the best ones out of reach?

Well you’ve done it now the deed is done
So make the best of it
Treat him mean
and keep him keen
Avoid litigious writs.

Italian life is wonderful,
 all women wine and song,
But this thing I’ll teach,
allow him one of each
and you won’t go too far wrong

best regards

Not Nutella

US americans
spending weeks
camping on a beach
in Greece breaks the body

down to where
we've gathered one
by one collecting each
and everyone's drachmas

we need
peanut
butter
the

real stuff we saw
on the local grocers'
shelf we all willing and
young to eat Skippy with

all the heart
attack ingredients
especially high fructose
corn syrup because after all

it was only
an eight ounce
jar so how could
we go too far down

one
more
level of
damnation

Premium Member Before I Forget

Some like to vote, some others don’t
But what is really missed
The voted in would never want
To know if you exist
Some like to read, some like to ride
Some others never run
They walk under the trees to hide
Their faces from the sun
Some like to go to piano bar
And while they hang around
Some other people go too far
In aim not to be found
So what’s the point to mention it
Don’t ask, for I don’t know
Some strangers passed, in second split
It was their final show.
