A Young Man Named James

There once was a young man named James
Who was good at most boring board games
Excepting for "Clue"
Because he didn't know who
Dunnit because he forgot the names
Form: Limerick

Ode To Rubber Boots

“Ode to Rubber Boots”
By Rachel Heffington

In rubber boots you’re free to wade
Through puddle and through creek;
In rubbers you’re invincible!
(Excepting when they leak!)
Form:

Strumpet

Respect is not awarded
Respect is always earned
Excepting our President
Who usually gets spurned

Mrs. or Ms. inclusive
In Trumpland now are known
As sTRUMPet in his tweets
Because they spurned his bone.
Form: Verse

Life's Flower

duped to go
metric excepting
this but forgetting

what once was
sacred has evaded
even jaded thinking

that you think this is
but it isn't geometry
so please pass me

that three
no it's not
in eights

going metric
you made
a mistake
Form:

Business As Usual

Our boss employed a receptionist
Whose beauty we could not compare
Double D cups woke up the knights
As pheromones surged through the air

Her chair is usually empty
Excepting this handwritten note:
"I have just stepped out for the male"
Exactly as written I quote
Form: Verse

Premium Member Excepting Behavior

Sometimes I just
think myself out of thinking;
sort of like
exercising myself
out of exercising
having earned
a good rest--

then I check in the mirror
to see if my head has grown
leaner—larger;
Alas! Most thoughts
cannot be seen on the outside,

excepting behavior….

Truth

Only when your blind can you really see the world, only when your deff can you here the words that are spoken, only in silence will you gain knowledge, only with a open mind can you understand, only with a excepting heart will you know love, and only with a fulfilled soul will you have peace.

Premium Member A Dangerous Following

Tiger’s carriage supine
excepting you and me
come alongside the cool waters
of eternity.

Tiger’s claws dally in the homemade stream.
The zoo has a dangerous following.

Fresh and clean,
our cheeks lean
into the Tiger’s beverage.

Tiger’s tongue, sanguine,
wagging of thirst —
welcoming.

Praying

Powerful words to bring into sentences
Raining out delight to recieve to God
Aiming towards a good way of life
Yielding to the truth
Isolated from the world's way of life and excepting God's the Creator
Nurturing in a new way of maturity and changing our attitudes
Gouging out the knowledge generously given by God
Form: Acrostic

Little Elegy By Igor Severyanin

Oh, she has lifted on tiptoes
and gifted lips to me for kiss
that was so tired, and autumn knows
wet silence. There were soundless tears
of ours, they were falling down,
And there was boring dying day,
All being had a boring gown
excepting only dream, I say.

P.S. This is my translation of poem by Igor Severyanin, 1909
Form: Lyric

The Witness

I testify
 for my own person:
I’m the guest, which got to the castle
at the last moment and,
 every time and everywhere,
I was the last.
Nobody following me
excepting my shadow, which keeps my umbrella when it rains,
or polishes my shoes, or holds my mantle. And no, nobody else on my trace,
so I can’t explain who and why
killed me.

I Know For a Fact

Seeing lots these days...
Things and people from the past still trying to take effect
Letting go relaxing and moving on

Haven't been shedding no tears lately must be real strong
Living life because i want to not because i have too
Excepting myself when no one else can

Growing and learning Loving and growing
Establishing a better me not because of him/her
But because of me and i know for a fact that makes me happy
Form:

Guess who

Two beginners here
Speaking softly
Relationship to steer
Both thinking loftily
Never lack of boundaries so *****

Denial of the highest sort
Never excepting emotions
Each barrier a impenetrable fort
Yet still going through the motions
Only success comes through the truth of court

The answer does not take a sleuth
They like each other you see
Open questions are uncouth
Answering to no fee
Oh the strangeness of youth
Form: Lyric

Premium Member Compromise

When you can start saying, I love you in the morning instead of at night. Everything turns a shade of gray, instead of black and white. What signifies and shows compromise the most, is when you can care about and respect your host. It means you have reached deeper into your heart now excepting, not getting everything your way. Thinking of another ahead and outside of yourself. Not in a needy way, signified by sorrow, Since you’re not able to play.
