Flight of Icarus
Into the heavens he flew to escape his fate,
Caged in a prison cell the equivalent of death,
And so he soared above on wings made of wax;
Rising up he threw away all caution to the wind
Until the sun melted his wings, such a sorry end,
Sea awaited him as he plummeted back to earth....

Rational Faith
Subjective objection to lack of objective proof,
Overpowering faith defies scientific truth.
Perimeter observations,
No rationalization but this,
The supernatural creates,
For we do exist.

Sit on the gate and continue to speculate,
Why the sheep stay in fleet, don't look to escape this fate....

The curse of the lonewolf
Wandering through the plains
Lost in plain sight
Famed for loneness
Borne into misery
The abandoned zeta
Chastened by pain and sorrow.
The bane of the lonewolf ;his curse
Cursed to be alone
Wandering in his thoughts
Screaming out in his mind
Cursed to walk alone
All love lost.
Will the lonewolf escape his fate?
Will he bud and sprout?

Listen to poem:
Escaping the Fate of Fish
David J Walker

Why leave the vast confines of
The abundant sea except to
Escape the fate of smaller fish

There is something in the oxygen for
Those who dare to shed their gills
And breathe the air
meant for the bold

And learn to walk upright
Making the tools to
Take flight

Where will our escape take
Us in the future?

How will we breathe when
we get there?...

Looking into life’s journeys

And I wonder, just how many of us are dancing to its beat ?
I wonder, just how many of us do nothing, but only walk it’s street ?
I wonder, just how many of us go through life, standing on our own two feet ?
And then I wonder, what drags us ?, as we crawl towards what we fear to meet,
yet, all of us, cannot escape our fate and in our own time, surely will greet.

This Music Will Be the End of Me.
in my head, you control my thoughts
your lyrics are my words
your beat makes me hurt
concerned, i've been burned
trying to escape, escape my fate
it's too late
taken by the way you make me feel
this can't be real
an emotional drill, finding thrills
the music is my spill
the space it fills, where his face used to be
so hard to see, what the music has done to me
so ashamed of the way i am, i choose to be
this music will be the end of me....
