My friends, I am at the end of my rope -
all because I'm an incredible dope.
I thought two girlfriends was better,
but, when I sent them a letter,
I put each one in the wrong envelope.

By a Thread

Holding on to a sliver of hope
That the day will bring good fortune
Though I fear I'm at the end of my rope
And the fall below is grand.

Eye to eye with a final thread,
Splintering into sinews.
I've wasted my time to stay ahead
and dealt my own lost hand.

Above

There far above
I'm at the end of my rope
Still I haven't lost my hope
I don't deal drugs and surely not the dope
Kept my brain smart
And one with my heart
And felt one with god
Now the time has come
For all my troubles are gone
Now I'm a ease
To live at piece

Indianapolis Is Burning

The sky is red
The fog is thick
My body buzzes
My mind is sick

Too late to tell
If this is all a dream
I'm constantly grinding
Inside the machine

I'm spinning a web
To catch all my hopes
I'm getting closer
To the end of my rope

No solace found
In this sea of distress
What can I do
To clean up this mess?

I'M At the End of My Rope

(This is a fictional poem)

I'm in jail because my son stopped going to school.
My cellmate is smelly and I'm fed nothing but gruel.
I'm very depressed and I'm at the end of my rope.
I've been begging my cellmate to take a bath and use some soap.
My son is proud of himself and he brags because he's never cried.
But that will change when I get out of here and tan his hide.

Where

Where is my hope?
I'm at the end of my rope
     How can I cope ?
     Problem not removed by soap
     Need some dope
     My lover chose to elope

Stronger than I think, there is hope
At the bottom of a pit, see a rope !
Climbing inch by inch, I can cope
New lover, she sells soap !
Time to celebrate, break out the dope !
     Soul mates never elope

Alone In the Dark

Imperfection deep inside
shatters my bandaged soul.
Shadows descend my listless mind-
Sorrow seeps into my heart;
	My spirit trickles out.

Slowly my soul is shriveling-
powerless to ebb the flow,
useless to everyone,
ignored by the world;
	My spirit has bled out.

No where left to turn-
at the end of my rope-
strangled by hopeless dreams-
all alone in my life;
	Darkness fills the void.

The end of my rope

You tied the noose that I hang from
I stare at the writing on the wall
I feel like all the words are written wrong
My feet can’t find the stall
I wish my thoughts would just be gone

I am the rope in which they tie
I can’t seem to shape the future of my life
Got me thinking am I the one who’s ready to die
I decided to roll the dice
Sick of living a lie
Why did I think twice
Now I’m begging for a reason why

Mama

Just a short trip it seems to the end of my rope,
eyes wide frantic and pleading toward some way to cope
My most lovely and generous of friends have I lost,
Not to vanity, greed glutonous frenzy or OZ...
My dear mother I miss you some trouble fear
that no longer can giggles shared rise (up) and cheer
Still not one single dark knight as the day turns to dusk,
I look tear-filled childs eyes up,
'stillin you Mom I trust'

At the End of My Rope

I study my scowl in the back of a spoon
As the Rumbletide ripples in a cup of Joe*
The lap desk that holds it is vibrating, too…
The window is shattered, my boots bumbletied
The knife pricks my neck, right there in the ‘V’
And the fellow who holds the knife is me.

Embracing Hope Miracle Man 2/24/2023 I oft have days when It’s tough to cope, and I search for a knot at the end of my rope. That’s when I begin pushing the envelope, and find myself on the slippery slope. I found the answer and no longer mope, the answer was Jesus, He gave me hope. “When you say a situation or a person is hopeless, you are slamming the door in the face of God.”. Rev. Charles L. Allen
