I wondered! Why wisdom wastes away
In the valley of vanity, void and voiceless.
I often pondered on how poor predators play
Away with the lives of the wealthy and worthless
Let your fingers do the walking right up her thighs
Causing me to squiggle and pop out my eyes
Lose total control
Lift her camisole
For easy access to the den of her sweet prize
The den of the unknown
I Dine with the devils
I eat with the demons
Then I drink with satan
But
I never realise I was a saint
Till I knew the unknown in
The Den of the unknown
A rascal up north, poet Ken,
had retired one night to the den.
He woke to the stares
of six angry bears
and fought them all off with his pen.
for the 'Sencleri-limoku' Poetry Contest of Brian Strand
He scratched at his chin and gave a broad grin -
Wondered where he'd been to wind up so thin.
Then he recalled when he'd dabbled in sin,
And he had loved gin more than other men.
He'd thought he could win in the world's playpen-
But found himself then in the Devil's den

Walk of the ages step by step down pavement and dirt bare feet and linen, bark with the weight on shoulders king of king of all fiery eyes that knows thy enemy that laughs at the face of danger at first and last glance the prey that don't stand a chance of survival as he suffocates the opposition one by one
Robbers in their den:
The harshest of men,
In all ten,
Their boss, terrible Ben!!
Stepbrother of as terrible Ken!!
Now, not with his pistol but confusing pen
Their next operation indicating 'when'
And much persuaded to give it a name
One wouldn't have guessed, nursing mother hen
For his having once favored 'operation wren'

Lone snowflakes drift in
As anorexic, claustrophobic bats shiver
Wrapped in their bat wing sleeping bags.
A field mouse plays “Three Little Pigs”
With a patch of straw.
An eerie wind whistles wickedly
Alarming an itinerant mole.
I snore, noisily unaware,
That my brother sub-let
His half of the den.

Duchess has Den, Lind's Empathetic Yen
Laughing with Casey gave "rise" to a fall,
Giving "urgery" to surgery,
We pray the setback is soon annul!
Sometimes when mishaps occur,
Causes appreciation in full,
When things stop working,
Face the horns of the bull,
Carpe Diem! Step back & reflect,
Refute descent, resaddle!
Read, think, thank, pray, sing,
May the Big One bless you ->"Troubles Skedaddle!"
Sky is growing dark,
night is coming quickly.
Have to make it back,
or death will come swiftly.
Should never have went in,
and awoken the beast.
My life is for its taking,
or my head at least.
Running as fast as possible,
it is closing in.
Who would’ve thought it plausible,
for Death to rise again?
Finally I am caught,
tortured 'til my end.
My head I possess not,
it rests in Death’s den.

Give me poetry, women, wine
Let me dine
Kiss the king
Cause this is my castle
And I am the k...g
I am gonna feast
Like kings and queens
I am on poetic ride
Give me couple of drinks
And I am gone
Come, feast with a poet
Don't spoil it
Part on!! Party on!!
Let me take you to the other
side
Show you the light
To the deep dark pleasures
That nothing can give a
measure
So you better act nice
I might give you a chance
Welcome to the Poet's Den
I tripped into a foxhole
down
down
down
shiny black button eyes beamed
a dime a dozen for your doe-eyed sins
can you call your mother’s name?
Sleek and shining you
see
me
bleed
matchstick machete prick my fragile fingertips
I see you’ve laid out traps for me
can you call your mother’s name?
Ember red and raging you push me
up
up
up
through the blinding lightning sky
smolder there while I get colder
I’ll tell mother that you called.
I’m in a salt and pepper dive called Magdalena’s Den of Sin,
Long overdo for dry dock, with my keel hogged out of line.
I’ve just enough good cheer to ring a single jingle bell.
Outside of that, the climate on the weather deck is fine.
I've got my ducks lined up, soon I’ll be shooting them down
So that I’m ready when those saints come marching in.
I’ll use a few smooth maneuvers to raid the barmaid’s port
In this sailor’s house of worship, Magdalena’s Den of Sin.
Daniel’s in the lions’ den.
His enemies threw him in!
Now he can’t get out again.
Oh, what is he to do?
On his knees he starts to pray.
Pleading words he will say
That the lions stay away.
We know his faith is true.
Shivering beneath his cowl,
In the dark he sees them prowl.
Listens as they start to growl.
Oh, did God hear his prayer?
But he is safe when morning comes.
God had heard! The fear is gone!
His enemies are on the run!
Now all know God is there!
