A Continuation of ‘on the Vanity of Earthly Greatness'

The Bengal is dead, a corpse in the ground,
The do-do bird is without sound.
The tribes of Indians, won’t see another day,
The ash from the volcano, has long been blown away.
We have seen the death, of the giant squid,
And many evils stole, the paintings of Madrid.
Why is it that we must destroy?
Maybe someday, morals we will employ.

Sunrise

Sunrise

Up from the deep, a day is dawning,
Slowly rising, a day is dawning.

Up sleepy head, a day is dawning,
Up from the dead, a day is dawning.

Rays so bright, an affection of light,
With much might, oh what a sight.

Oh such splendor, one can hardly contain,
Upward, upward, over the plane.

Such beauty, such beauty, who can explain,
A burst of color, over His domain!

John Holmes

John Holmes is dead, but I have heard it said, He used to walk the nude beach getting tanned, He'd shoot the crowd a moon, Then amble 'cross each dune, Behind him leaving three tracks in the sand. Poor John is dead, a casket for his bed, But rigor mortis settled in his hose, In the lid we'll bore a hole, And through it thread his pole, Or else we'll never get the danged thing closed.

Depression

Perfection doesn't exist I try so hard to be what u want I kill myself for you pills and vodka keep me leveled no
one knows the truth tears fall blood stains my sleeves why am I not good enough my bottled emotions I
swallow kill me please end this pain this life is a prison I'm already dead a ghost who haunts this world I'm
nothing and I waste the air that others deserve to breathe and for that I'm sorry.

Dead -- a Senryu Series

Shall I stand alone
In the silhouette of death
The furnace of hell

The unbeliever!
Wash my soul, with hell's fire
Live among : damned

If I had been True
To Christ, my Higher Power
I could live in “Light”

Lenore beside me
For eons of Forever
I am lost : Alone

Evil owns my Soul
Darkness, my Forever life
Ignited in Death

A word of advise :
Live your life with-in “HIS” Love
Know Eternal “ LIFE “

Sniper's Eye

I set my self high in the sky
Where the world eye see's only my shadow
My target walks not knowing what watches
Never knowing that death is looming

I line my site's on my target
I slow my breathing
I take My shot
The bullet fly's

He is dead a hole where he's heart once beat
The people around run and screaming thinking that they are next
But I do not care for I walk away to do this all again another day

My Eyes Are Playing Tricks On Me

My eyes are playing tricks on me
I cannot believe half of what I see
There is a devil pumpkin head
I feel it can raise the dead

My nose is picking up an odor foul.
Something dead – a mouse or fowl?
There is a devil pumpkin head.
I feel the buzzards can smell the dead.

My heart is beating much too fast.
I wonder how long this craziness will last.
I am terrified of what might be seen.
This is not my favorite Halloween.

The Venus Tree

Denuded by the wind and rain
A tree without its bark stands
Dead but rooted still.
Its limbs not fallen off, but sawn.

As headless as a Grecian statue is.
A sun bleached desert tan
With arbitrary swirls of gray.
This driftwood’s half a continent away

From either ocean’s seething waves.
Woodpeckers have hammered out
Whatever’s left of life inside.
How can so dead a thing, be this sensual?

More erotic than a tree
Has decently a right to be.

A Bullet Named Ken

A Snapshot Of War.

He lies next to me in the mud
Dead; a shot blew half of his skull
Away leaving the taste of brains
In my mouth.” I shot that goddamn,
Dirty, rotten rag head, Ken! I
Cut him in half before he
Hit the ground!” Ken had a grotesque
look on his dirty, blood-soaked face.
Something I couldn’t quite make out.
I stared into his vacant eyes
And found myself unconsciously
Saying with no embarrassment,
“I’m glad it had “your” name on it.”

Poetical Comity

They say, “You are poor”
I say, “I’m poor“
They say, “The scarcity prevails in your house and body”
They say, “You are sick man and patient of abnormality”
They say, “You are dead”
I say, “Yes, I’m dead”

Scarcity in my house and body
Because I have no poetry
I’m sick and patient of abnormality
Because prescription of a true poet is free
I’m dead, a living corpse
Because without poetic wisdom life is anarchy
