creek sounds / strong stones lie
stream song / low croak sigh
sparse rain / hot stones crack
deaf ears / dry worlds die
The day yawns
stretches...
like a flower
petals upturned
ghostlike vapors
drift away
Bullfrogs croak
My dog slumbers
meteors flashing -
glass smooth pool reflects night's swarm
bull frogs croak, Spring's song

“Croakers”
Miracle Man

In our pond Frogs croak,
are they just protesting me?
or some other snake?
Twelve rain frogs out of tune croak
Not a winning number sung
Prelude to copulation
No sweet dreams all night
Here lies Rover the dog
Who always wanted to be a frog
Though he hated getting a soak
He did however eventually croak
Halo round the full Moon
Frogs croak air smelling fresh mud
It rains cats and dogs
Twilight torpid pond
Shadow falls on lily pad
Silence broken, croak
Autumn plume of winter air
Watery hibernation.
A PACK OF SMOKES
A LITTLE TOKE
A LOT OF CHOKE
A DEFINITE CROAK
There once was a blind British bloke
Whose nose-in-the-air was a joke
He set out to plunder
But found that Down Under
A bounder most likely will croak
bushy tailed squirrel runs around oak
wet violet dew gives them plenty of soak
grass is so green
snake barely seen
little mouse is about ready to croak
don't smoke
you'll croak
smoke weed?
no need
pleased wife
good life
drink wine
feel fine
drink beer
good cheer
don't seethe
just breathe
Joke Did Evoke
Remember when I told a joke
And much humor it did evoke
But without a I doubt
After being worn out
Cut my chord and did croak.
Jim Horn
You see them puff, of that they smoke
they think their tough, like a manly bloke
We’ve all had enough, of that we choke
so let’s not bluff, or we all will croak
Jack and Jim stood up to sing a hymn
Jack's voice broke
Jim's did choke
Both did croak
Through their pain
They both did gain
Praise in heav'n for singing to Him
There once was an addled old dog
Who thought he was some sort of frog.
He would sit by the pond
And croak out a song
Of his time in some distant bog.

Dogs need
to feed
No food
How rude!
Frogs we
can see
Feed dogs
bullfrogs
Dogs croak
Bad joke!
For Brian Strand's 'ALL YOURS (Mar 10)' Poetry Contest
There once was a cocky male frog
Who met a cute toad on a log
She thought he said “Ribbit”
In fact, he said “Rub it”
Now he’s belly-up in the bog.
frogs croak every night
…….cats have nine lives
……..darkness lingers

Frederick frog had lost his croak
No croak was severe for a froggy bloke
He tried very hard every day
But Frederick's croak stayed away
Because Frederick had a frog in his throat.
Trump Fire Stoke
Found that Trump another fire did stoke;
Burned up things until people were broke;
Then died;
They cried;
In swamp, he had caused frogs to croak.
Jim Horn
Amidst the storm, dark ravens fly,
Foreshadowing that someone will die,
Caw-caw they croak, watching us o'er,
It's us against them, and then no more.

No joke
Take toke
Sniff coke
No smoke
Most folk
Are woke
No time
in poke* *pokey (alt. poke) is an old term for jail
Just choke
Or croak
Whitaker Will Invoke A Joke
Whatever Whitaker had tried to invoke,
Like him would turn out to be big joke;
And a fanatic,
In mode frantic;
Wish tomorrow he and Trump will croak.
Jim Horn
If my voice was but a croak
I'd write my lyric on a mountain high
So all the world could see
Note, I say not sing.
Lest they were in harmony.
There I go again, wishful thinking.
