Thomas Wiimer Dewing
so accomplishedthe critics did sing
Often with large scale scenes
were changed to Japanese screens
I hail the critics
That so doggedly denounced me
Pardon me for my hubris
They said it wouldn’t last
And they were right
Form:
Finds me
Binds me
Cleans me
Frees me
Critics cannot blind and bind my guts
Call me mean, it cleans, frees, can’t rebut.
Robert Polhill Bevan
an under rated atitic man
Rival with contemporaries in the Bloomsberry set
though critics say a better bet
Yorkist poet/playwright William Congreve
got his critics a little peeved
His writing became a bit erotic
within his very fine lyric
His music was to cause a riot
As Stravinsky lost the plot,
Beethoven ...it was not-
This rite of Spring
Soon made the critics sing.
Mega Hex was a water witch
Who spent her days digging a ditch
We wondered why
The well went dry
But her critics all found their niche
Impressionist Expressionist Madison Hartley
an abstract experiment he tried to be
Influenceg by Delaunay
one of the greatest critics now say
Limericks I posted on Soup
"Stunk like an old chicken coop"
Critics asked for more
I wondered what for
But now you have the latest poop . . . . .
Happy Donnie with hair of tawny
Delivering his speech quite bonnie
Critics take him to task
For not wearing a mask
Less love than for even old Ronnie
Knowledge mimics power
Conquered falseness levels
Flattened social meaning
Stops as study strengthens
Smiles embedded surface
Mighty critics vanish.
There was a pilot called bush
Who flew by the seat of his tush,
His job was so tricky
That he listened to dicky
And silenced his critics with shush!
I tried to join,
Give critics review,
For the poem I read,
It went a skew,
Tried to submit,
Just what I thought,
But it errored out,
And all was naught.

Being criticized never tasty
But in critics, we need to be greedy
Improving personality to add ability
Since opportunity nowadays meeting scarcity
Men are attracted
To all that jiggles
But ladies prefer
Something that wriggles
So critics extolled
Exquisite squiggles
And God collapsed
In a fit of giggles!
it wasn't so much the nudity on stage
that shocked the critics
more his inability
in a world where water was scarce
to sing somewhere else
than under his shower
A poet - some deem that I’m not
I write about farting and snot
Won’t be driven away
I am here to stay
Of critics, I don’t give a jot

Never mind, Vincent, what they say.
Go on and paint your sunflowers,
And your swirling, starry skies.
Those who can, you know, must do;
And those who can't must criticize.
Form:
For as long as we stand tall
Critics will always crawl
They gave me no option
Pushed me against the wall
Hoping for my withdrawal
But I stood tall
And kept giving my all
His music was to cause a riot
As Stravinsky lost th plot,
Beethoven ...it was not-
This rite of Spring
Soon made the critics sing.

Happy birthday, Sister Sheila,
The critics love your performance;
You look relaxed on camera,
Having enjoyed the lifetime chance.

Poor me
It’s plain to see
My poetry’s flat
flat as can be
I think I’ll go awol
a bit after nightfall
Silence my critics ~
no end to it all

Verse sublimation
skipping the will
Centering the message
critics are chilled
Listening to silence
voices dethroned
Freeing the moment
— tomorrow on loan

If gently bidding S.H. adieu
Makes Gal Gadot an ableist,
Then her hypersensitive critics
Are nothing if not labelists.
Note: S.H. stands for the late, great physicist, Dr. Stephen Hawking.
