And I Am Your's
give me a smile,
just say hello,
don't push me away,
for I will soon go,

just let me feel,
more than an ant
not one to be stepped on
but one that you can't

I aint askin' for much
just a tad of cordiality,
grant me this simple wish,
and if you so desire,
no more of I will you ever see....

Grime Under the Tablecloth
Grime under the table cloth

Beneath the fluorescent lights and sterile walls,
Lurks an undercurrent of unspoken strife.
The daggers are kept hidden, the words unsaid,
But the tension is palpable,
A throbbing wound.
For all the forced cordiality,
the animosity seethes underneath.

Universal Greetings
Saying ‘hello’ around the world
is more than a vocal projection
It’s a movement of lips, swaying of hips,
and at times complete physical expression

Saying ‘hello’ in Asia,
calls for your best leaf of tea
While Europeans make do
with much less conventionally!

For Africans and Caribbean’s alike,
the cordiality of our 'say'...
could make ‘hello’ in the morning,
last until well past midday!...

Death
death is the closing door of thought,
threshold of serenity
the soulful paths of cordiality
it is perfected for unerred sorrows
the conclusion of life
at uninviting time
the flickering hopes of cause
the cause of fingers rising eventyally from shit
the cause of having hands shoved back in deep muck
the dimming flame of candles the blown out storm
the saddening peace of perishing dreams....

Purity of countenance, fellowship of praise,
kindling of braided wax and flaming wicks.

                       Feel, smell, see, hear, taste
                               — for the Lord is good.

Soaked in wine, spices, candle and prayer —
cordiality stirred with gentleness and kindness.

Pot-stirrers of all that is good — smiles, good humor and tongue. Havdalah! 12/13/2019

Man loves friends
Babies have toys as friends
Children have peer groups as friends
Young men like making friends
Friends can become spouses
Entrepreneurs have ambitions and dreams
as friends
Stars are friends of the moon
The splendid glow is the friend of sunset
The shore is the friend of the sea
We are friends of our grandchildren
Pets are man's friends
Only genuineness and sincerity of heart
Showing a true love
Only sincerity and cordiality
Is a sign of friendship...

Just Say Hello To the Day
J-ust say hello to the day,
O-pen your heart to the sun;
A-nother morn has broken,
N-ew dawn brings much fun.
N-ever ever say goodbye to the day before the morrow;
E-ach moment eventually ends, let it pass as the trees grow.

M-ake a warm welcome to the day,
I-nstead of ignoring its beauty;
R-eceive it with pure pleasure,
A-ccept it with cordiality.
N-o farewell, neither adieu,
D-eny though the blue or gray;
O-n early June twenty-fourth, just say hello to the day....

Empty
Everyone wears the faces of a thousand facets of themselves
turning phrases to gestures to jokes
A different side for every face they see
Presenting themselves as a gift for the worthy only
Lately I can only see facetious smiles of fake cordiality
It's a cold breeze over colder waters
It's an abstract pain that only hurts when I'm surrounded and lonely
A sunburn whose fires simmer until prodded to life
Despite efforts and smiles and comments I am irrelevant
So here I remain
Empty...
