Premium Member Divorce Alley

Just hours before now
we were landscaped together
my 3 sons null, void
fateful meetings of goodbyes
Solitary confinement
Form: Tanka

Solitary Confinement

Haven of rest
A quiet tranquil recess
Balmy cove
My Solitary retreat
Hovel where nature calmly unfolds
Resuscitating faint soul

I have a yearning
To break out of confinement
The tortured inside
The painful layers of fiery hate
Breakout of prison, be freed

Spoken Confinement

Prisoner of the
cursed phrase
shackled by the terms
Sentenced with each damning
breath
— inmate of what’s heard

Optimist? Pessimist?
Recognizing the glass as half-cracked
Often explains the level of its contents.
Freedom is being satisfied
With the terms of one’s confinement.

Sunday Afternoons

In dusty Karoo towns
Sunday afternoons are
sentences of solitary confinement

Deserted streets
closed doors and windows
No sign of life

One wonders if the rapture
has taken place

Confinement in

Work..is found

In a dream of

Doing..

Waiting for the

Finishing bell..

But really it is

Waiting for the

End of waiting

Which ended

Already...
Form: Blitz

Ball and Chain

Hostage to fortune,
prisoner of time

Trophies a burden,
 polished and shined

Greed but a jailer,
freedom denied

Hope in confinement
—wishing a crime

Ah Peace,
You disheveled outcast
Hiding in the heart
Of wingless doves
Shivering in cage-less
Confinement
Clinging to a charred
Sunrise
Smoldering
In the madness
Of god-less
Gods

Completeness
May appear
Incomplete..
The incomplete
Already
Complete...

Freedom
Is already
Not confined..
But may appear
As our
Confinement...

Longing
May appear as
The experience
Of wanting...

Letting Go

You can’t beat fate
with the stars in alignment
You can’t beat fate
all your ducks in a row
You can’t beat fate
with your words in confinement
You can’t beat fate
—till you let it all go

(Dreamsleep: March, 2023)

Poetry Confinement

I am on poetry confinement
I can’t go here or there
I am chained to poetry
I only have words to eat

Set me free poetry

I only have time to rhyme left
I am on poetry row
I am getting the poetry chair
I leave my muse to you

Feigned Freedom

forced solitude
compulsory confinement
freedom from the sun

tall walls
large locks
glum guards

the soundless flow of time
yawning years
freedom of thoughtlesness

timed routines
in a timeless atmosphere
feigned freedom
Form:

King Of Beasts

Truth
a heavy burden
speaking loudest
from exile

The distance
and confinement
like a magnet
to iron

Imploding
within you
when ready
for travel

The weight
of
delivery
— the roar of the lion

(Dreamsleep: February, 2024)

House Arrest

Kidnapped by the Muses,
  sentence now unknown

Thoughts are held for ransom,
  will denied the throne

Kingdom banned in exile,
  usurper in control

Welcoming confinement,
 —house arrest extolled

Solitary Confinement

Suck it, milk it- bleed it dry!
But leave My Heart still untouched
The Fires will rage, and they will die
While I am somber all too much...

The Temples I tread, inside my Head
Searching for a safer place
A Room to dwell outside the Hell
Of my prison's burning Gates
Form: Rhyme

Silent Scream

when your absent
life bends to madness
everyone around me
is completely unaware
of the silent scream within me
trying to purge itself
out of it's confinement
if there was such a doorway
to enter my body
all those people who entered
would be deafened
by the scream

Your Day

Your day to existence
Exorbitant day that is for you
To celebrate and explore.

The week is over
Today be free
Release confinement from.

Visionary unfolds, week to come
Breath in, twinkle, and laugh
Contentment and gratification be yours.

It's FUNday, YOUR DAY.

Because of the end of January’s snowy days, While roads are still covered with an icy glaze, It’s a bit easier to handle this quarantine The most frustrating thing I have ever seen, Hopefully this spring will end the COVID craze.

Icarus and the Sun

Every day and night
I sit within my tower.
The sun scorching with all its might
Waiting to melt me and drag me lower.

The dream to escape my confinement
Avoiding the Sun’s wrath to make me trip.
I still have to fulfil the requirements
To break free of the haters’ grip.
