autumn young
you are
so bright and warm
cleaved her soul
unto the
brightest fields of
pumpkin orange and
tint of skyblue
this soul
i own and
i shall not grow tired of it
i cleaved
almost half of it but
still i split
the difference with this world
the essence of the soul
you can feel it
in the air
that we breathe
the sweet taste of morning
cleaved in our
precious prayers
oh lord
One day a wolf sat,
Awaiting a tasty cat.
Then he spotted a beaver;
His teeth, they cleaved her;
He’s in heaven now…bear attacked!
love it | setting seeds
a fertile mind | nurtures nature
producing | tasty fruit. . .
For those not aware cleaved poetry must read as three stand-alone poems.
Steely-eyed
tight-lipped
she mouthed the words
'It's over'
twice,
so they'd sink in all the way
no tear in her eye
nor gulp in her throat
guarding her pounding heart
as she cleaved his
in two
from emerald woods
cascades’ blue bursts through cleaved rocks…
wet glaze hues rubble

One day, a wolf sat,
By a babbling brook,
Awaiting a tasty snack.
He spotted a beaver,
His teeth, they cleaved her
Then by hungry bear, he was attacked;
Now he’s in Heaven without his pack.

In the vee of his legs the mud-thing sat
he patted it round then he patted it flat
leaning back with arms out straight
he gave serious thought to the mud-thing’s fate
swinging his arm straight past his head
he cleaved it in two and declared it dead.
Seasoned daylight ascends
dominion happening
upon the bends of merriment
for every venue she sojourns
the fruit of her existence
blooms with each slanted petal
as they settle among the squares
cleaved within the terrain
a beauteous quadrant affirmed
????
our light, cleaved from the bosom of God
now eternal and complete, as is He
albeit in a stage of infancy
occupies a body
God creates
and thus in truth
ego is but an interface
for us to navigate this earth life
to ingrain in Self, love, wisdom and power
Melancholic drivel, gravitating stammer
Mosaic affinity, reticent clammer
Gushing droplets and whimpered dawn
Hindering clarity, vanquished, withdrawn
Trembling masquerade, deserted palm
A cleaved cradle, posing qualm
Seeping sorrow, hoping consider
Bequeathing dainty, wishing deliver.
Speckled black
Against a shiny redness;
Once cleaved to old and tattered,
Inspiring me to cleave it to -
A new found insignificance.
An extension of what really matters
Hidden somewhere past your focus;
Underneath the wood and glue,
Such a little thing as this -
A faint memory of you.
He took apart
his soldier of tin
to see for himself
what lay within
expecting honour, strength
valour and pride
he eagerly toiled
to get inside
with soldier now
cleaved in two
he saw what he thought
could not be true
half of his warrior
now cupped in each hand
he gazed at an emptiness
he could not understand.
white breath of lilac | white lilac blooms
I walk into native rain | dancing on my naked skin
under a broken sky | sunbeams escaping

A Yasmin Khan and Mick Talbot collaboration.
For those not aware cleaved poetry must read as three stand-alone poems.
We played a lot of games,
the stars dancing of their loud laughs.
They seemed cluster of angels
surrounded me with their songs too.
I wanted to close my eyelids,
to listen their innocent voices.
Their sadness was still very lucid,
like hanging thistledown in space.
And their midnight painful pules,
cleaved and grinded me unceasingly.
discipled
unto that giving bosom
have I consumed its saccharine
as though an infant
cleaved unto its mother-
that its nourishment I might know
beyond the tender touch of flesh
that does nothing for the soul
have I rested my lips
on such a fertile breast-
that knows nothing of turmoil
beyond its own hunger
lest I stand rejected

Timorous, and trembly hearted
Quivering, world-blown besides.
My sister in sensitivity
Relief, know. Where it abides.

Sunned; and for a seaview
As sparkly eyed, Love's own
Unfathomable depth!
Both dawn and dusk facing.
A brightly sailed width.
As far all pangs from out
Cape-hung, yet still cleaved to
Dearest, your hand!
Life's ongoing procession
A peaceful dream; fanned.
I weave rhapsodies | words dance before you
Enshrining words on paper | obelisks of enlightenment
Heartbeats quicken pulse | hark metered rhythm
As i map stars with my quill | Ursa Major could guide me
To rendezvous with cosmos | perhaps map a planet ‘B’
A cleaved tank duo can be read as one poem or 2 stand-alone tankas. This was a collaboration between Yasmin Khan, and myself. Yasmin is responsible for the tanka on the left.
Undertone
Whispering breeze
From the smile of her
Divine blossom
Cleaved the solidity
Of my melancholy life
And allayed my ache
That captured my heart
By mesmerizing the devil of
My Achilles' heel
My unknown myself
And transformed me
As a hedonic to ramble
In the garden of joy;
Then, I kissed on her cheeks
And whispered into her eyes
To not to leave me, ever,
And to live with me forever;

I Want For Your Sweet Tyranny
I Want For Your Sweet Tyranny,
Close to Me Forever Cleaved.
Wanting You to Want the Deepest, Darkest and Lightest Parts of Me,
This Immortal Warden Allows No Merciful, Humane Reprieve.
Shallow Graves Do Poorly Cover,
The Sins Of Our Bodies Desire.
My Soul Does Vibrantly Hover,
As My Heart Longs to Expire.
I Want For Your Sweet Tyranny,
To Dominate My Very Being.
Praying, Praying, No Sun To See,
As I Cast Away My Mortal Being.
Form:
carved cruicifixes,
slashed n’ sliced stars of david,
chiseled taijitus,
hacked stars n’ crescents
cleaved christs
dissected n’ shaped buddhas,
engraved menorahs
chipped n’ etched away Confucius
trimmed dharmachakras
whittled & molded muhammad
severed n’ separated astrological zodiac signs
snipped aum
chopped n’ cracked pentagrams
lopped off lotus flowers
shaved n’ grated ichthys &
pierced pentacles---
all wash away in the sink
after running warm water over them
for a little while.
cleaved unto this day
has each braided wick
awaited the present hour
the flame it soon carries-
whose hand might cast that light
that they should see clearly
the evening of a resting shadow
quickened only by need
that the eyes might see-
what shall overtake such blindness
that darkness would consumate its union
to the risen light none before the other
that a man might reason without question-
knowing not
that to know of one
is to know the other
