Storm
Fiercely the wind whipped all the trees
The windchimes sang and clanged
Storm brews like rapid boiling tea
Sip one cup with just me...

An Old Maid With Six Brothers
She was an old maid with six brothers,
Once again, she held a gun on her “date”.
He began to shake.
His boots clanged together.
Another one gone? A brother said.
The rest of them laughed.
Insurance they would never have to cook or clean....

Purple Boots
Purple boots, he said
the odd phrase
clanging in his head
Purple boots, he'd bled
E'er since a poor boy
had tread in those colors
for his warrior gang
Purple boots, he nearly sang
as bullets strafed him
the odd phrase

Happenings
The postman blinked
The man winked
The pan burned
The girl learned
The bell rang
The boy sang
The leaf fell
Will the merchant sell?
The pipe banged
The chimes clanged
The woman shopped
The cook chopped
The bird chirped
A senior sang in church
The baker whisked
The file was on the disk...

Yesterday,Today and Yes,Today
Yesterday,
when jingles clanged into your compound
Directly from my papa's kraal
Were you not the young woman
Who later swore to stick in sadness, joy and...?

Today, and yes, today
For tomorrow is misty
Ahem! Why can't we just forget,
That this is a scar that only the grave will heal?...

Broken arrows storm the atmosphere
With their terrible mastiff and slavers
And carted away the glowing stars.
I gazed with a blurred lens
Into the sky where the sparrows fly
But the smoke from the burning huts
Had scared away the sparrow’s choristers:
No song, no peace, not even a glimpse of hope
No light, no night, not even the sweet shining stars
For smiling sorrows swings back and forth the town
And clanged to the souls that once did smile...

What a Clanger
The cymbals clanged
The drum boom boomed.
The pickle lowed
While the violin tuned
The trumpets drowned
The sound of the drum.
The conductor frowned
And cried for Mum
The fiddler fiddled
With his bow
The flautist giggled
Until she could not blow
The pianist played
Melodious and sweet
The conductor prayed
As the musicians took their seat
As the conductor raised his baton with flare
Wondrous music filled the air
It was marvellous to see
The orchestra playing in harmony...
