Highgate's Lawson Wood

Posters&cards with much humour

Cassius Marcellus Coolridge
'twixt canines& art made a bridge
With caricature so comique
he personalised the anthropomorphic
Her caricature full of lampoonery
Drawn in the light of fine moonery
Some of us laugh
At her autograph
Til Grandma said “Brilliant Cartoon-ery!”
He is a caricature of his Dad
A faker, imposter, jester, and cartoon
Some say he’s a scoundrel, some kind of cad.
His reputation depicts a buffoon.
Life
Is a caricature of death
It shows its jagged jaws
While offering a sweet embrace
It is the bliss between light and dark
Before the final curtain call
Sarah was always dressed in black
and wearing that midnight pear bracelet
made me shiver spotting teeth marks on her neck;
was she a vampiress ready to attack?
INTRODUCTION
My caricature is outlined
In the jar of vocabulary
On the edge of expression
I tear into existence
Plying limits
Self imposed
Exposing me
Composing me
A Caricature
A caricature
Of what is an arrival,
Will be survival.
Results of my thinking
after watching movie,
"Survival." It is logically
and language oriented.
James Horn
A caricature is just a poem
told in silly pictures.
A single moment ,
captured by the artist.
It tells a story
with funny features
and bright, bold colors—
it always makes me smile.
Characteristics of Caricature
Never were quite certain or ever sure,
What became Characteristics of Caricature;
Not any joking;
Very provoking;
While we had to endure the overture.
Jim Horn
our aliveness, given to play
seeking expansion, to God prays
reclaiming innate bliss nature
far above form caricature
divine love and light, our mainstay

PARODY
pithy never uncouth with a short bitter truth
perhaps ironic & or a little sardonic
a satire of which many never will tire
'
Caricature is a picture, description, or imitation
of a person in which certain striking characteristics
are exaggerated that will create a comic or grotesque
effect.
Capture rapture caused by a caricature.
Jim Horn
The silvery fog called to me
Come sit enjoy leisure
You've worked hard, its time for joy
Create poetry caricature
He was squat and fat funny man
Bald, round, loved cups of dram
He'd laugh and joke kid many folks
True feelings inside crammed
My Service
I gave it all, I gave it true with no caricature
Have I impressed a Pig to be a sea creature!
***Reminiscing on working for a hard employer who does not appreciate your 'sweat' till you retire; all old, poor, sick and unrecognised

Below here lie the remains of Mrs Shadow-Sun
Who used all her life searching for her husband
She married for just a minute. She died at this spot
The very moment her husband died in the West
When she realised that Mr. Twilight she mistook
For her hubby was nothing but a caricature.
The photo frame, hosts a picture
Of outer appearance
But we’re not mere caricature
Soul’s behind countenance
Likewise, do thoughts define
Or do they bind, confine
Luminous, our heart shrine
Is claim to fame
The photo frame

Quietus
employee stealing
became known to employer
so he told him with loving feeling
take a salary raise and correct behaviour
we are unbound spirit not ego caricature
so called sin merely misalignment
in time all souls do mature
imbibing love current

A victim asked "why am I wronged. I am innocent, never played betrayer"
I exclaimed, "why you want to play the role of a feeble, destiny's caricature?"
He was silent by my words, I put my hands on his shoulder,
Hugged him, whispered: "In the game of Victor and Victim,
the looser is the marathon winner"
Cute clever clown
Face fronting frown
Stream stealing smiles
Prompt plunder piles
Sad story stays
Live limpid lay
Preach petty poise
Niche naughty noise
Loud laughter lives
Gaudy ground gives
Rich rivers run
Pick pretty pun

Dylan got bitten
hard by fame
and though wounded
continues to tour
A thundering
majesty
in makeup and veils
jesters by the score
Divorced from
his wandering
a pilgrim of dreams
the past too great a cost
A caricature
of genius gone
eyes clouded over

(The New Room: June, 2023)
In a caricature of life and all its ambitions,
he licked his salted paws and went into the funhouse.
There, he found new definitions and parameters
in the concave and convex exaggerations.

Here is how I feel
Illustrated in my body’s lack of color
I am empty
And solely wish to appease you
With a crafted caricature
I am bitter
Looking at everyone I see
With spite-filled stares
I am tempted
To defy everything I stand for
Just to make you angry
I am sorry
That I was a better person
When I was with you
Form:
An old green tractor next to a red barn;
Horses, cows, and ducks fill up the pasture;
Surrounded by foliage at every turn
I inhale deep the sweet smell of nature;
A farm full of fruit trees for that I yearn,
they taste perfect like a caricature;
Roosters silhouette as the Sun's rising,
bucolic scenes right out of a painting.
Night arrives and clear window glass
becomes a myriad of reflecting panes.
Do I like what I see,
an old woman who still feels young
inside that caricature of flesh?
She was eighteen just yesterday,
with enough energy to propel her forward
into a future that is now past,
where in this present moment
only memories remain.
