A Mexican parrot clever and wise
escaped his dreadful cage in Van Nuys
He flew out of the Valley
back to old Mexicali
singing: Hasta la vista, you guys!

I See You
I see you
I see the frown in your smile
I see the tears in your laugh
I see a cage in your eyes
I see the wall around your heart
I see the storm behind your sun
I see the you behind you...

The Cage
Deep beneath the flesh and bones; the cage in which my hearts encased

Appears to be cracking - slowly - day by day

No, you can't see it, but i know - and

I can feel it - and

Everytime you say my name... it breaks a

Free
A bird in a cage in front of an open window
Dreams of stretching its wings
What we want the most is right in front of us yet always out of reach
I tell myself that I could always run
I want it so bad it burns
I'll swallow the sun to breathe fire
 I want to be free

Shadows
Feeling a twinge of wretchedness
From my ugly past.
I was plagued by misery and
treated like old dirty trash.
While existing in a dark cage in
my own afflicted mind.
Despair, disgust and fear was
not hard to find.
Lost, as stygian shadows crawl
upon my soul.
Only a pretender as I played my
role....

Baby Harry
In his cage in a rage- Baby Harry
and those visit his realm best be wary.
A smart cockatoo
who screams out: " #*@# you!"
What his master might say could be scary.

My Theme is : Birds singing.
But I hope that birds talking is okay.
However, as I write this,
Baby Harry is talking, but not in a socially acceptable way......

Wind In the Glass
Wind in the glass

Wind in the glass,
Emotions repressed,
Cage in the grass
Released heart depressed.

Tree in the wind,
Free with his feelings,
No more wants to hind,
Master of his dealings.

Words flowing free,
Discharged hidden says,
Sun in the marquee
Freedom of its rays.

Light in his face,
Kindness in his deeds.
For the human race,
Heart and soul needs,
Open freedom seeds....

Untitled 16
My sweet tongue is coiled, prepared to pounce,
ready to be free of those three heavy notes.
The major cadence forms in my chest and
the melody rises: a spectrum of mutinous lyrics,
a crescendo that’s longed to sing from my throat.

They are released from their cage in a discordant chord,
each tuneless, grey syllable tumbling from my mouth.
The raw words widow me three times over,
each ponderous sound confronts your puzzled face
as the tune melts in your silence, dispersing in the pale air....
