Escape

blinding addiction
locks my pen to blank pages
freedom floods my soul

seasons change quickly
forbidden poison creeps in
brandishing hatred

letters and words drip
escaping my souls dark depths
today no one dies

Penelope Sky

Upon idolized lips I gander
Such flesh quite pleasurably divine
Within their hymns I seek to pander
Upon idolized lips I gander
Brandishing lustful hints of banter
An appetite dawns for your design
Upon idolized lips I gander
Such flesh quite pleasurably divine

Premium Member Something Widespread

Something widespread in the United States; children are being shot in their schoolrooms. Innocent kids maimed and slaughtered, by crazed classmates brandishing guns. And moms cry; pleading for gun control laws, that'll never pass.

Equinox

A distinguished symbol of the age
Happened before my eyes
The lustrous blend of colours
Births a new definition
Brandishing oaths in less words
Than expected to be composed
The unprecedented passion
Causes me to scream internally
Her eyes emulate a saga yet to be told
Although each chapter presents a new beginning

Torn Ditch

All through spring,
the catalysts of eddies,
encircle the rivulets
bubbling over,
like wherewithal's brandishing
this errant song.
Now the lesson is over,
dark ditches all reignite
treasons answer,
twice mightier than the sword,
he carries his words in the rain
following like the lamb
the serpents gain.

Embraced
Your Dream Catchers
Have been tattooed on our culture

They Grace our hides
Our windows
And our rear view mirrors

Protecting us
Shielding us
Defining us

Circles
Web woven
Sinew sewn
Brandishing
Your Eagle's feathers

Rolling along
With the nightmare
In the mirror
Fading in the distance

Premium Member Snake Oil Salesmen

The Duke and the Dauphin
two snake-oil salesmen in 'Huck Finn'
chased by folks brandishing paddles with nails
ridden plum out of the county on a rail...

Joseph R. Biden and Donald J. Trump
peddling their rancid cologne to the masses
Such a pair of stubborn mules, those two
Let's stick their dunderheads in fertilized mule-asses

In, Out

Out the greed-bound fella brandishing lust,
In the saintlier man flashing lamps of truth
With wise sayings and rhymes that soothe,
To let the past sinful modes return to dust.

Out the hasty hand that tosses love and care,
In the more careful soul that tolerates all
With a heart that does not let its beloveds fall,
The caring spirit that treasures all jewels rare.

True Blood

Lead me unto temptation
with offerings of forbidden fruit,
While simultaneously
citing scripture and
Brandishing sins of impiety....

Project illusions of
non-existent fairy tales,
So that I may delude myself with their
subterfuge yet another day......

....Before reality rears its ugly head
and all that is left are the charred remains
of my naive convictions....

2 Ascetics In the Desert

By a stone near Saqqara
Sand blown from the Sahara
Mixes with dust from Ankara

Particularly near a pyramid
it peculiarly disappears amid
Two ascetics on a pilgrimage

They observe the strange vanishing
With great verve while brandishing
A saber at a passing Saracen

They wondered if this was transcendence
And blundered towards repentance
Hearts thundered in this Presence

A Killer Smuggler

He keeps brandishing a sword
That sort of him makes a Lord,
Plus the Illicit gin they hoard
And his plane they’re about to board
That shall soon fly over a fjord;
To his territory of control, quite broad.

He keeps repeating that he is The Lord
To co smugglers – A horde,
In whom his words strike up a chord
But mainly witnesses to how his sword
Had into two cut a spinal cord!

Mail

an empty box brandishing a red flag
where hope for packages and letters
from unknown addresses try to find
their way home. greeting cards with
colored envelopes marked by rough
edged stamps. bills seemingly blank
on the outside become very contrary
once they are opened. pre-approvals
for credit cards decorated with holo
grams of promise to receive all that
is desired. the box is a lying device.

Good Night

Good night to the smiling
moon asia land burnishing the
seascapes of you and me,

strokes of soapy filled waves
washing the shore brandishing
white sand, gleaming.

I was here before, with you and
you and you.

Twisting and scraping our way
like crustaceans lifting ourselves
parts one over the other till we no
longer were the sea but the limbs
on trees dropping seeds back through
the crusts of time.

The Heart-Shaped Piñata

They gather ‘round it
All the young’uns
Brandishing augmented timber
With rusted pointy steel at the tip.
Impending over their prey,
Smiling, laughing,
No blindfold required.
The heart-shaped piñata
Still, silent, almost breathing;
Ready for the punishment to come:
The ravenous embrace.
The digging of sharp metal
And splinters spliced within.
Lusting over
The soon to be bled sweets.
Pounding mercilessly and forever.

Dark Cloud

Dark Cloud

( Nairobi Mall Attack)

What the Dark Cloud bestows
no even a Clairvoyant knows

Unless if it breaks into a Flow
None can estimate the blow.

Rolling, writhing 'fore rupture
wicked, amorphous structure

Eerie and dark, low it hovers
menacing to break its covers:

For, Hate is that heavy cloud
brandishing Guns in its shroud

Bursting into a grisly Flood
of Tears, and innocent blood!
