Skies blue
Pretty, great
Existing, happening, crying
Making the world go around

The Bright Blue of Love

I saw early on
   not long after dawn
the bright blue of love
   midst white clouds above

Was the blue a sure sign
   From heaven to me
That your 'I' and my 'I'
    Would soon become 'We?'

Valentines Day

Roses of red violets of blue
Someone out there is longing for you
Loves in the air
Show her you care
A lovely bouquet says I love you.

Beyond Blue a Freed Verse

BEYOND BLUE
 nuance
  lavishly
  wrapped around
appeared
 devoted
deep
&sparkling
setting
  alongside
the
 most sacred
frescoes
 faded
over time
 remains
   remarkable
eclipsed
&
envisioned
as
 meanings
to ascribe
&to
 attest

Not Fond of Succulants

I had never been fond of succulents
They are usually a dull green,
Shaped in the same way with stiff petals
Hens and chicks, we used to call them in Iowa
But today I saw some new ones.
They are purplish blue, a gorgeous color
I have changed my mind now

Rose and Violet

Rose and Violet

Roses -violets
Tell of valentine's friendship
Love's ageless story
Violets - a humble kiss
Roses - sweet benedictions

Kiddie Scorn

KIDDIE SCORN

Little boy blue went
looking for a stray
He came upon a
maiden asleep in the
hay
Said he, I’ll slip
round and kiss her
awake
But found he’d made
a bad mistake
For pretty Nell,
though small in
size,
Sent Blue a crying
with two black eyes

Michael Brown

His name was Brown, his face was black
he walked alone outside a shack.

A siren sang across the track
and signaled clear the next attack.

A man in blue (a maniac?)
took aim and made the morning crack .

Like stones around a cul-de-sac,
six bullet holes frame Michael's plaque.

Neptune's Glory

Nestled deep in a galaxy divine
Ethereal and blue, a planet doth shine
Placed between bodies, so vastly contrasting
Thus far indelible, its legacy everlasting
Universe of darkness with stars so bright
Neptune doth glows and gleams in the night
Eternally reflecting our fundamental light

Why

Stepped into the bath tub
Slipped, slid, tumbled
Cracked my face against the wall
 in a blinding flash
Black and blue a Halloween mask
Slipped again a complete spin
Totally dazed and shaken now
Why ,oh why did this happen to me
They say God has all the answers
Wonder what it will be?
Happy New Year? Mmmm.

Hoping For Roses

Sue was hoping for red roses tonight
It's Valentines, he better get it right
Been dating him awhile
Thinks he's pure class with style
Until he brought fake violets in white

Roses - Violets

Roses - Violets

It is ruled that roses are red and violets are blue
yet best in scarlet as would maroon too and lavender is said
truer than blue ice hue or tepid these flowers for you.

Squirrels One Me Zero

Three more bird feeders were torn apart by busy squirrels.
I leave them up as a reminder to never buy this type again.
They are yellow and blue, a gorgeous contrast
To the red, silver and brown ones I leave up on the next tree
Additional reminders of other kinds of bird feeders my squirrels can destroy.
Each adds a bit of color to the yard.

Rose Petals

petals of roses
waft patina in the spring air
wrap your luscious lips
quiver with my yearning lilt
in fragrance freeze words unsaid

Prose Poem Carpe Diem

So little done, the pathos of things, this nearly man caught in ignorance on a lonely path where tempo treads softly, alone.A time out for heartache, primeval feelings sitting on a volcano in a bleak mid winter.Living for today one thing leads to another..out of the blue.A watershed..to catch this miracle, a glimpse of the soul..petal by petal being doubly blessed.

A Date

Rushing through lusty August towards
A vault of blue, a longing promise.
It is like waiting for the visiting moon,
The day when the silver light shimmies past
My bedroom curtains, and I will look up
And I will feel the burning of the heart.
Mist will pour down from the Sun
And the same mist will fall from my mouth.
I will no longer be in need and
It will all sliver pass me.

Valentine Roses

I found roses when I open the door.
Caught my toe on the carpet on the floor.
Did he think this was unwise?
With a loud thump, crash, and cries
Embarrassed sprawled out on the ground, I swore.

Prose Poem Surreal

I looked,I saw an image blue a memory, fleeting yet true, midst the black, white and grey just awaiting me to portrait;I tried to re-capture this dream, reality's not how it seems,it flows & ebbs as morning mist, just out of reach, shadows persist;A high sun then dazzles my eyes, frustration, streams out soundless sighs, forever lost, this unique insight, when suddenly,I start to write creative words,so surreal

It's Not Easy Being Green

ITS NOT EASY BEING GREEN

Green has much responsibility.
Green is everywhere!
A touch of blue, a dash of yellow
it sings of vitality
and rebirth.
Symbolic of spring, green brings
balance and the renewal of nature.
It walks a tightrope of positives
green thumbs, green lights
greener pastures, emeralds
and negatives
green around the gills
envy and greed, aliens.
It’s not easy being green!

Thinking About Homographs

Homographs are delightful.
Spelled exactly alike
But totally different meanings

Words like Boil
Dolly cart or dolly doll?
Blue – a feeling or a color?

Crest.
A toothpaste? a hill or a rooster’s feathers?
Albatross – bird or burden?

Amazon.
Ancient Greek myth about superior female race
Parrot
Or the obvious?

Politician
Self-serving millionaire in the making?
Liar? Thief?
Or mislead idealist?

Boo

Slowly he crept in the graveyard;
sounds of breaking twigs he heard.
Keeping a brave face was hard;
darkness had its wild card.
Out of the blue a black bird
flew past him, and rested as a guard
on a gravestone of a sorcerer thought to be mad.
“Boo!” the crow screamed with a voice so bad!
Suddenly he woke up, in hand a horror movie ad!
