To follow the Gershon Diet
Don't cook it when you can fry it!
With bagel holes
To fuel your goals
What else can you do but try it?...

Bagels and Lox

There Isn'T a Title Called, I'M Really Bored
Zibbity Zabbity.
Zoomity Zoo.
I'm Bill Cosby.
How about you?

I took my meds.
Without any food.
And now I'm kooky.
I'm not a dude.

This poem is stupid.
It's not even a poem.
I'm eating a sandwich.
on a bagel.

The end....

Frugal and Blaring Bugle
We found ourselves  being quite frugal;
Hired priest who played a blaring bugle;
To our alarm;
Had no charm;
Hearing his sermon had been brutal.

With all of the donuts would finagle;
She wanted one covered with maple;
Sorted through;
Did see view;
Not any so I brought her a bagel....

Hungry
I’m hungry for contact;
I hunger for friends.
I yearn for the time
When this whole nonsense ends.

I’m hungry for life
Like the way it once was.
I miss when New York
Had that magical buzz.

I hunger for normalcy,
All that one needs,
But my hunger right now’s
For a bagel with seeds!...

you know ive been addicted
to coffee this whole while
but it gets me up

as you touch my hand

uplifting our hair and
your short skirt
I cant help but say something

Dental Floss
Eat a poppy bagel
And you’d sure be at a loss
If you did not have access to
A string of dental floss.

Toothpicks aren’t strong enough
To dig out all the seeds.
Dental floss, in mint or plain,
Is what a person needs.

You can tell the flossers
From the dental-flosser-nots;
The latter group, when smiling,
Will flash teeth with polka dots!...

The Nightmare Of Marcus Dean

      Marcus Alouitious Montgomery Dean

      Dined on bowls of chocolates, doughnuts, bagels and cream.

      Until one night he awoke with a scream,

      Being eaten, he thought in a terrible dream,

      By a bagel, a doughnut, some chocolates and cream.

I Don'T Need Much
I don’t need too much in life –
A book, a bench, a breeze,
Some friends and family for support,
A bagel and some cheese.

Of course, the extras add a lot –
The coffee, ice cream, beer,
The pension I can live on from
A long, fulfilled career.

As time goes by, I realize
There is less that I desire
And very little, therefore,
That I actually require....

Bread
If someone said, “You can’t eat bread,”
I don’t think I’d survive;
For what I dread’s not being dead
But sad when I’m alive.

My morning meal would not appeal
Without a seeded bagel
Or I could deal, to keep it real,
With toast I could finagle.

Yet I’d be blue if some taboo
Encouraged the assumption
That food I view as yum to chew
Would fade from my consumption....

A Trip To the Bagel Shop
In the early morning, it is a trip worth taking.
I go to the bagel shop just to smell the baking.
Into the water are little rings of yeast-raised dough.
Let them soak a bit, and into the oven they go.
There are plain and seeded with other varieties.
Hot and fresh from the oven, they all easily please.
Bring out the butter, jelly, and don’t forget cream cheese.
Bagels make a great breakfast treat. Everyone agrees....

Friends

We met a while back.
You made me laugh.
It had been a long time,
since I had done that.

You like tea and not coffee.
You like toast, no bagel.
You smile when I say "cheese".
Hugs, hugs, hugs.

You never tell me I stink.
You never tell me, I am too loud.
You never say I embarrass you.
You. All, of you!

Where have you been?
Why were you lost?
I have found you?
No.
God knew I needed…
You....

Dined With Cal
Vanilla ice cream
Creamy butter on my bread
Calories pleasure

Sweet maple drippings
Creamy salty buttered toast
Add calories joy

Fluffy cream pancakes
Strawberry crimson fresh blend
Calories well tamed

Hot pineapple cakes
Squeezed foamy apple cider
Calories for health?

Greasy cheese pasta
Sprinkled egg tumbled bagel
Calories full blast!

Egg pie, peach float tart
Brewed steamy milk chocolate
Calories heart melt....

Premium Member The Discovery of the Bagel
Whoever came up with the bagel
  was a right-smart clever fellow
His brainstorm surely ranks up there
  with taste treats like pudding and jello

For I'd never put toppings on pudding
  like lox, tomatoes or cream cheese
And who would think of serving jello
  with an assortment of delicacies

So, a doff of the cap and three cheers
  for that purely anonymous soul
the centerpiece of whose discovery
  was quite an ace in the hole...

I was eating a bagel,
With the late Betty Grabel
When I accidentally,
Dropped lox on the floor

I thought it was cool,
Ya know, that three second rule
So I ate it
Before someone had walked through the door

I thought it was stable
Near the edge of the table
But it dropped off,
When Mrs. Grable had suddenly sneezed

But nothing got on it
It just tilted her bonnet
Thank goodness, luckily...
Her nostrils were squeezed...
