A Trip To the Bagel Shop

In the early morning, it is a trip worth taking.
I go to the bagel shop just to smell the baking.
Into the water are little rings of yeast-raised dough.
Let them soak a bit, and into the oven they go.
There are plain and seeded with other varieties.
Hot and fresh from the oven, they all easily please.
Bring out the butter, jelly, and don’t forget cream cheese.
Bagels make a great breakfast treat. Everyone agrees.

oh yeah I love them esp. toasted but developed an allergy to flour. Your poem made me hungry. I guess that's the sign of a good write, Robert.

How I love bagels, Robert. There aren't too many good places in Florida to buy them though. I don't know if you saw my blog, but I have been out of town on legal business and will return Wednesday. I have a lot of reading and commenting to catch up on. Only wrote two very short poems this week. That'll change when I get home. Love, Crolyn
