Love is the combusion,
And the compassion
Of being Pampered
Inspite of being Bad-tempered!

Love can strike only Once
And when it does, it makes us Pounce!...

Drops her phone, but claims that a thief took it
The girl will not calm down
Her swearing makes dad frown
She raises her fist shouting ‘suck it’! 

The meaning couldn’t be misconstrued
Her father says just quit your foul mood 
She says she trashed her phone -
dropped it on her way home
She’s grounded for lies and being rude

The moments before sleep
A bit scritchy scratchy on the eyelids
Whilst I wonder whether I should have said or done something differently today
There's no way of knowing
I have that feeling if I just stay awake I'll know more
But I've tried it and just discover how to wake up bad tempered
So I'll leave today here, it wasn't without merit
I said I love you to those that mean the most
I'm sure of that

Do you mean short as in not tall
Maybe short as in bad tempered
How about shortening for best shortbread overall
Or taking a short-cut for going unhampered

Short-hand, for taking notes at speed
Short lived as in not long to last
Short stop and short slip in sporting games you need
To stop short is what I intend to do so hold fast


So many short’s to write about, If I do them all, will definitely not be short.
