Political standards are falling
To a point some say is appalling

And knock on their door, "Aphid calling"!

Acidity aside
In the back of her mind
The poison leaked through
No rooster to roo
But beyond blasting
A hole in my shoe
I tell her I love her
Nothing to do

Casting Darkness Aside

May words be courageous,
  with thoughts on fire

This pen as my shield,
  to smite the ire

The darker the cave,
  bigger demons to hide

With truth as my torch
  —casting darkness aside

Appearances Aside

He stands so tall
He looks so fine
His clothes are pressed
He toes the line
He drives the road
In new Mercedes
Nearer Heaven yet than Hades

Some would kill to have his life
And he drives home to beat his wife
Appearances aside.

Premium Member Step Aside

I’m not the girl that I used be

Why do you look at me like that?
Where is that sparkle in your eyes?
Do you not find me attractive?
I’m still here
Right here
I’m still the same inside
If you can't see that
You might as well step aside

Appearances Aside Ii

She stands so tall,
She moves so fine.
Her dresses are designer line.
She works for leisure,
Pressure off.
Each need dismissed with but a scoff.

And yet-
She pays careful homage to the makeup that she chooses,
Skin tones carefully blending in, she seeks to hide the bruises.
Appearances aside.

Come Aside With Me

“Come aside and rest awhile,”
Said the Master to His disciples one day.
He chose a spot off the beaten path,
And led them along a “different” way.

Sometimes He says to each of us
As we busy ourselves with many “things,”
“Come aside with me and rest awhile.”
When we obey the Master, Oh what peace it brings!

Premium Member Aside On Maths

Plus, minus, tot up,
add on, multiply, subtract,
division signs. equations,
in depth teachers show,
simpler routes to struggling class,
sweet words of praise raise levels

Tact is vital when,
 one imparts rules and standards,
foster childhood thirst for sums,
and older students,
in their quest on advanced course,
maths is tricky? go figure!

Angels Fly Aside of Me

Dark clouds roll in from up above.
My heart cries out with tears of love.
A crying out from deep within,
For something that just could have been.
What once was there with hopes and dreams,
Now fills my mind with silent screams.
From up above I see a light.
Of smaller things that look so bright.
From deep within I feel they’re free.
The angels fly aside of me.

Premium Member Simply Set Aside

Simply set aside
Your gleaming desire
Your slippery grip
Of fools gold knowledge.
Gifting dollars to
Nonsense
Biting satire aloft
In the rafters,
Reason willing,
God in a shilling,
Blow wish bubbles
Forward, save sanity,
Swimming in a pool of PTSD.
Set aside, simply,
Ontological lip service,
And line up,
Steel reflecting and narrow
To ingest living love's liquidity.

Threw Aside

I thought I was in love,
Until you stabbed me in the back,
I thought you loved me,
But I was completely wrong,
I tried to get over it,
Tell myself it was a dream,
But inside I knew that it wasn’t,
That girl kept coming back,
She wanted you and I knew it,
And I knew you wanted her,
I was a toy,
A plaything,
That you just threw aside,
You got bored and needed more,
So now I’m alone.

All Kidding Aside

Distressed
From the test
Salting at it's best
The potter forming clay
Light with darkness
You must be born again
Time to understand
Seasons come and go
Meet the instructions
Learn from Gods class room
Take my yoke upon you
I am close at hand
Wanting to call a friend
My burden is light
Over come
Win the fight
Transform by the renewing of your mind
From the word came all things
If we can believe

Premium Member Complications Aside

It started out of curiosity
this friendship became a priority

through months of nurturing
many days of cluttering

complications aside
we are still side by side

making lightweight of every obstacle
in our aim to grow nothing is oracle

no one believed it would work
little did they know that God's hands were at work

plugging and tugging
molding and forming

complications aside
He is still on our side...

Premium Member Death's Brushed Aside

Death's specter stalks us all our days
Yet near the end it's brushed aside
By angels singing, haloed praise...
Death's specter stalks us all our days
We're lifted up by light's pure rays
Triumphant wings to heaven glide...
Death's specter stalks us all our days
Yet near the end it's brushed aside
