Dance To Live Life Fully

The dance, dance as ballerina
         soft light body levitating...
       animated bodies inspirados
men , women sway in the arena...!

Chains To Chainmail

First as a kept slave
now damned to the arena
foreboding thoughts drifting in,
premature demise
as I step forward to strike
Into my heart I am pierced

Often activated by mind

In the Place

Happy birthday, Sister Rona,
Delight in the place is certain;
In the Philippine Arena,
Joy is offered by The Garden.

Letter To Kenyan Electorate

The books are open
to us who fatten
mice into pigs

even tho' u limp, brethren
crawl to the ward
take seat in the arena

shortly,
curtains will part
To you : Be brutal!

Of my bed every morning out I jump
Ready for the fields of life to go
Armor, sword and spear in hand
Into survival’s arena myself I throw

When loyalty spilts

"The conscience was ripped apart“
 when in the arena—
stood my ‘faith’ on one side,
and my ‘family’ on the other.”,
                                                                   ~Byeol

In That Arena

In that arena couples fight
Against infidelity, dishonesty…….
Many have fought but lost
Yet many still join the spot
But when love wanes
They totter to demise
As their opponents smell victory

T He Colloseum

The pillars of the colloseum
stand guard over the arena
men to the lions they were led

Their life's blood shed
 on the makeshift floor
as the spectators cheered
and roared let the games begin

Premium Member Internal Battle

              No referee
to be seen in blood-soaked arena.
          Both fierce gladiators;
my heart versus my mind.
I wait with suspended breath to see
which colossus emerges victorious.
Form: Verse

De New World

mammon arrives
the stage
the global arena
whose head
whose heart
whose soul
shall go
the way of the world?
not all that glitters
is gold!
hear well
sense well
brother -
the world's ill
the globe's evil
de mammon arrives!

Mystical Haiku

Columns of sweet flag
line the ancient arena
where love conquers all

The brilliant heavens
with its endless string of pearls
dances the god waltz

If we could but see
the one locked inside we would
set a giant free

Premium Member Get Out of My Face

Get out of my face, I holler
Leave me alone, I scream
Like spectators in a darkened arena
Like a colony of ants
Like stars in black
Like overgrown grass, dead
Like sand like coal
Get out of my face...
Whiskers

A Shot of Vanity

Social media shenanigans
do learn nay to take seriously
seldom do they add any value
Distortion of reality a tool
readily applied in an arena
where aesthetics rule
over brains and decorum

In and Out of Me

I have parallel hands
and multiform gestures
outside, arena and circus
inside, life and death.
I bear my voice
not the words,
I perform all gestures
I don't carry pigeons,
inside of me
sprout beasts
inside of me
missing shoulders...

Premium Member Show Girls

There once were three girls from Athena
Sweet Lena, Helena and Celestina
Each to make a bit of dough
All set to put on a show
Gave fame’s wheel a spin in packed arena

The Gladiator's Choice

They couldn't kill their friends
to gain life and freedom,
watching blood gush made them faint...
throwing away swords
got them slaughtered as traitors!
Defeat fear or die;
in this arena, death breathes...
afraid of lions?
Make the gladiator's choice!
Form: Choka

Premium Member Man of Virtue

In the arena of vices the man of virtue fell

an intrepid gladiator with God's sword in hand

ready to die was he for all of evil to expel

gallantly fought till evilness had left the land!

Age-Grade

The smell of joy
Filled the atmosphere
Painting the maidens
With “Uli” designs

Footsteps of music
Traverse the square
Moulding youthfulness
Into ecstatic gods

Waters, dancers of death
Flood the arena
Carting enroute
All to the earth’s bosom
