Edgar Allan Poe
was feeling just a little low.
For Lenore, his love was savin',
but he was only visited by a raven.
Edgar Allan Poe
He had a large gambling debt, many he did owe
A sports team is named in honor of him
Aptly named the Ravens, a touchdown with vim
Edgar Allan Poe
Is he friend or is he foe
He wrote a great poem called The Raven
A sly bird known for misbehavin'
Entrant into Andrea Dietrich's "Seeking a Fresh Crop of Clerihews" contest

Running after Midnight is eerie
Passing mile twenty-one, weak and weary
All other runners finished early
A few quaint and curious are waiting
Some encouraging, some baiting
Only this and nothing more
Quoth my sore feet “Nevermore”

one of my favorite poetry-lines
A lot comes down..To what we value.'
Money..? Money and its power.?
I'll give here not much preamble.'
jacinta allan where lies her heart.' In
Love of money.' I'd reckon? the whole and
Not a part.' So there she is rooted..? And very
Evil.? What are the facts.? Maybe? she'll
Be put right.? When life pays her back with some (really hard smacks.!)
Shot down
like a dog
By f....Nazi bastards
His memory enlightens
us
we remember pain and worrow
since we are human
and the dawn sill come
for us
If we hold fast
to our ideals
And that is difficult
Quite difficult
but not impossible
not impossible
not impossible
not....
Alone Corona Sonnet
From childhood’s hour I have not been
as others were, I have not seen
as others saw
in these dark times we live in
i am afraid of being alone
dying all alone
AS GENERAL CORONA
SPREADS HIS ARMIES
ALL OVER THE WORLD?
I
DON”T
WANT
TO
DIE

It is the desire of the moth
for the star…..
- Edgar Allan Poe
I awoke this morning
to find the powdery imprint
of wings on a window
that must have been left
by a moth trying
to get in when it
careered full flight
into glass, blinded
and driven lovesick
by the glow from a light
I had kept turned on
when reading
Edgar Allan Poe
late last night.
As I sat with Edgar Allan Poe,
my heart beat like a so-and-so.
I invited him in for tea
and, as that the son-of-a-gun looked at me,
I looked at him through my filmy eye,
and asked him if he could deny
that if I was anything, I was not mad,
that my case was ironclad.
He had the disposition of a grouch,
but, as a writer, he was no slouch -
though he made it his chosen mission
to exploit me without permission.
Why did I find you lovely
Not as an insult but of my own falling out
I do not think I was even in love
Why do relationships come and go so fast
Lovers lasting only weeks at a time
A fear of love I assume
And I am the one being afraid
Do not come near me, women of soft wax, daughters of Icarus
For I am the blinding sun, passionate inferno
How do I go about ending a beautiful thing
How do I end the life of a snow white fawn
