Poem For Allan Berg

Shot down
like a dog
     By f....Nazi bastards
   His memory enlightens
us
         we remember pain and worrow
since we are human
and the dawn sill come
       for us
  If we hold fast
to our ideals
   And that is difficult
   Quite difficult
       but not impossible
       not impossible
       not impossible
       not....

You describe so well the uncertainty of life and the horrors of this tragic period in man's history, Matthew. When heroes fall, we not only mourn their loss, but realize our own frailty even when we're working on behalf of peace and humanity. Excellent tribute! Love, Carolyn
