Premium Member Teaching Is Not For Everyone

Teachers are leaving the profession in waves
Stating that it is too difficult, the parents are impossible
Children are disrespectful, there is not enough money in it
Some of them are right to leave.
I am glad they are going.
Teaching is not for everyone.

If you do not have patience
If you are quick to lose your temper
If you poke fun of people
If you are a bully
If you have no sense of humor or sense of fair play
Please leave our profession.
Teaching is not for everyone.

All Is Fair In Love and Advertsising

Daily I watch as you use our heartfelt emotions
To sell your products.

You play on our guilt,
Our fears give you a lot of scope,
And our sense of joy you belittle.

Our anger you use to get attention,
You even use our children to give us warm fuzzy's.
Laughter you stage to perfection.

Our sense of fair play you have found a way to use,
All for the sake of your product.

What care you that day by day we value our emotions as less real
And more like some party trick.
Because the product is the thing.

Love I am sure would be long dead but for us still holding our poets dear
And their words still fresh and pure.

PTSD, this is nothing that's new,
it's just a new label to stick on you
They now blame it on the wars today,
unless for your trauma they have to pay.
Then all of a sudden, it changes it's name,
and you are accused of the malingering game.
So you lost an eye, arm or a leg or two,
that's happened for years, it's nothing new.
No one over the years ever tried to explain,
when you scream and shout they say your insane.
You could fight and yell until you were numb,
then they hid you away in the insane asylum.
Now in the 21st century, they start to see,
that your moaning and griping is reality.
Your suffering can't be swept under the mat,
too many now shouting, we deserve better than that.
We were beaten, spit on, blown up and abused,
why should we take this, we're not the accused.
We did our duty as we were ordered to on the day,
now all we ask for is a sense of fair play.
Years ago when into a corner we would flee,
from years of molestation and depravity.
Whether your a child or have already grown old,
you have a story that needs to be told,
If your in authority listen to me please.
This pain hidden inside is not a disease

Parking Autocracy

It is a job that carries no sympathy
And makes both parties unhappy

Hated and berated
Reviled and stigmatized
All for following the rules
Inherent in a system
That to some has no sense of fair play

Procedures can’t be lynched
So the uniform gets all the stick
The in his your face irate driver
Vents his fury to a man
Who is neither judge nor jury

A ticket has to some become a rod
That beats a saintly back
A red flag to one who sometimes abides by the rules

A legally parked car on occasion attracts no fines
In a world where bureaucrats are not corrupt
And where the economics of supply and demand
Does not come into play

A fine is another tax
The victims almost always say
In some instances this is the
Only tax they pay

Congestion and pollution
Are the evils of a glut of cars
It might be time to rethink
How we get from A to B
The car might not always be the best way

No simple solution exist
That will please all who wish to protest
The love of cars is here to stay
Despite the shortage of a parking bay
