Self Gratification Poems

The Entrepreneur

A recent share on a post, that is so relevant to poets writing in a world seeped in instant self gratification.

Title.

The Entrepreneur

(A lone voice whispers)

We do what we do, because we are old school

Inspired by the likes of visionaries such as, Michelangelo or, Vincent van Gogh

For in a modern world driven to seek immediate validation, and the trappings of success

We may be becoming a rare breed

For deep down, we know this unconditionally
Unconsciously

We are a work in progress

We who do the hard work constantly, through patience, and resilience

We know we will eventually see the journey has been worth it

As we are blessed

When the world eventually sees or embraces our portfolios

For that immense need driven by relentless consistency, patience, and resilience

Will eventually knock on a certain door to be opened by us

Marked

"For the brave
Who conquered the Lands of Broken Dreams filled with Regrets"

… I like him

not the fat bellied one as there is
too much hunger on the planet
an overweight pouch does not seem right
resembles too much opulent self-gratification
and distracts from prayer and meditation

the lean personification however
sits pleasantly under the fig tree
content with a rice bowl half empty
which is really half full

Buddha causes no suffering
does not hurt any sentient being
including themselves

yes it could be a woman
or binary human soul
transcending all evil
filling all chakras with joy

bees and butterflies happily
swirl around the ripening fruit
as they direct their merriment
towards nature and togetherness

I inhale deeply
hold my breath for a while
then let out the air
and for a moment or so
forget all my sorrows and pain

Questions that Puzzle The Mind

If mothers didn't bear children,
we wouldn't hear their screams
while they're laughing aloud
and are having lots of fun;
love them and be always blessed,
sparkle enthusiasm and dreams!

If lovely spring stopped blooming,
how sad we would feeling emptiness;
and strolling down the flowerless paths
we wouldn't hear a bird warbling!

If we only loved ourselves, not others
it would be the shallowest existence;
how inhumane would be such a negligence
when the indifference harms inner feelings!

If all we are after is self-gratification,
we miss the sense and essence of logic;
we must love sincerely, not with forced intention...
trashing worthless thoughts that aren't authentic!

If we considered empathy and shunned all differences
to deter prejudices that confer altruism and diffidence,
we would in no time elevate love to the ultimate bliss;
where disdain stirs anger, goodwill instills confidence!

Oga Lastma

Just like the vulture watches its prey
From atop the roof top
Scanning every moving rodent
And rotten s by the gutter,
He watches eagle-eyed,
Every car on the traffic lane.
He watches with keenness ready
To pounce on any traffic offender.
Not because he respects the law
but for self-gratification.

The Watchers

They stay in the background
stating a useless union still self-centered
powerless, ill-prepared, inept entity of promises,
the verbiage of false hopes with all the dos and donts,

watching, waiting, predicting, and anticipating
 another's demise into servitude rationalized
with lie and innuendo, pseudo promises, outright lie,
 treaties made never intended to be kept;

an envious and jealous desire of possession
over control, land and people, ever transitory
it never seems to end, forgetful of history's lessons
 never once learning the realities of truth;

self-indulgent arrogance and ignorance
 internal self-gratification to be more
bound by useless rhetoric and threat
 and the human race reverts ever backward;

how long do we watch from distant shores?
as humanity fades into the past aggressions
back to the dust and earth in regression
 of time in restart?

Love and Lust

A feeling of overwhelming desire
With intense eagerness you crave
Leaves your body feeling on fire
Emotional feelings you are depraved

Intense burning sexual appetite
Leaves you a manipulating deceiver
Not caring what's wrong or right
Not caring if it's loves true believer

Tangled sheets, bodies sweaty
Relief from an overwhelming urge
Just two bodies rocking steady
Your need for a satisfactory purge

Thoughts of only self-gratification
Definitely a dubious human quality
Though it's a pleasurable implication
Being a big part of our own sensuality

You see what I have describe is lust
Love is something that holds much more
Where with one there’s no meaning or trust
And the other one can make your heart soar

Forgiveness

Forgiveness is but a show of self gratification
Portrayed by a deceiver to escape condemnation

To showcase self a being of virtue and righteousness
Every man would gladly play the two faced card of forgiveness

Yet the cunningness of forgiveness must be unraveled
For the selfish nature of man has made man crooked

To offer freely to a stronger person tolerance
Yet, from a weaker person for the same crime seek vengeance

Man has fine tuned the show of virtue to suit need
Placing priorities first upon what feeds his greed

The loyalty of men is forever bought by reason
With a changing appearance designed to survive every season

That a lion hunts not a galloping polar bear
Gives not a zebra the courage to dwell with him so near

The nature of man declares him not a blatant fool
For every man would sharpen first his most profiting tool

So if ever man is seen forging such show as he lives
Believe not in his words for only a fool forgives.

Premium MemberThe Purpose of Life

The PURPOSE OF LIFE is to CARE-FOR-LIFE,
To CARE for ONE and ALL.

To love ONESELF and OTHERS too,
Will help us STAND UP TALL.

Our ULTIMATE GOAL is a FULLNESS OF LIFE,
A true EXALTED STATE.

For when we learn to CARE-FOR-LIFE,
Our time on Earth is GREAT.

CARING-FOR-LIFE is a two-fold gift,
To REALIZE our FATE.

The other gift is very wise,
When we PERPETUATE.

To REALIZE we SELF FULFILL,
Through SELF GRATIFICATION.

The very wise PERPETUATE,
The joy of MULTIPLICATION.

CARING-FOR-LIFE CONCEPTIONS are,
The THOUGHTS that CARE FOR OTHERS.

When we provide the ACTS OF LOVE,
We learn from DADS AND MOTHERS.

The QUALITY OF HAPPINESS,
Is a product of CARING-FOR-LIFE.

By gaining more our WILL TO GIVE,
We think much less of strife.

A FULLNESS OF LIFE is a FULLNESS OF JOY,
To make our lives COMPLETE.

So TAKE MY DARE and LEARN TO CARE,
To make your life more SWEET.

SERVICE IS THE VEHICLE,
By which we learn to LOVE.

For LOVE IS LIKE A MIRACLE,
To BLESS US from ABOVE.

And yes, WE LOVE THE ONES WE SERVE,
As you have heard folks tell.

For when you GIVE WITHOUT RESERVE,
Your heart will surely SWELL.

The Blind Poet

If your eyes cannot see what others see
Then you are blind to your own poetry and cannot see
If you cannot look through another set of eyes
How can your heart know what to write

If you can’t touch another
Then you are only touching yourself
The only joy you will feel is self gratification
If your look through the eyes of another

Then your words will blend together
Then both will see what the other see’s
Opening your eyes to another
Creating a blend to your poetry

Then becoming a harmony for all to see

The Despicable Face of Love

How shall I love again if love leaves me in tatters?
Love invades my heart and turns it upside down
Driving at high speed adrenalin in my arteries where it matters
Little whether I make a scene or let love turn my heart into a clown

Sadists break at will
Claiming to love me when self gratification
Proves to be the prime mover in a deal
Filled with pretence, complacency and ingratiation

I find beneath dignity and beyond the pale
When love ensures a once technicolor
Tranquil, sedate heart love feelings fail
To pacify when the full horror

Hits me, singes my self confidence
Snips to nil the belief that love means well
While I ache and loathe the condolence
Love sends to my angels when Hell

Breaks loose
Driving me into a serene space
That commands love to vamoose
At high celerity and never again into my presence to show its despicable face.

Premium MemberArrogance

Arrogance is a dull thing
encased in a mirage of licentious desire
that disfigures the mind in the twilight of contemplation
              impoverished by glitter
found in a world extending no further than an arm
to strut like a peacock. demanding acknowledgment
like a beggar...with open palms demanding alms
to enter the grand stage of the humble and righteous
               seeking applause
dressed in the King's cloth of self-gratification
held tight by a ribbon of lies worn as a crown
on the false hair of folly
that lays in a circle around the feet of a fool
to be so self-absorbed as to be blind
to the death that lay on the ground
covered with the bloody tears of innocence
that flowed from the wells of disbelief
       as they cried out...help us
arrogance looks down on the faces
finding them unworthy of time
is it arrogance or a narcissist?
the question lays on the table of those weeping for the dead
who turned their backs on the circus
having found arrogance wanting of empathy
they cursed this jester in their court
having looked into his heart...finding no soul

In a world of decayed morals
Where change happens in a blink
Choices are based on greed and sex
Soulmates are all but extinct

To say that people are joined at the hip
It's only a temporary thing
In these, "me first" times of self gratification
One simply just takes off their ring

Call yourself a hopeless romantic
But not when it comes to love
Soulmate is merely playing semantics
And only pertains to doves

No Evil Distractions

Many will laugh and talk with you
Many will eat and drink with you
Many will pretend as if they are with you.
         No evil distractions
Many will say good things about you and
many will say bad things about you.
         No evil distractions
Many will come in the name of the lord and
pretend to be in one accord.
          No evil distractions
Many will tell lies and spread rumors about you
because they want others to hate and rise up
against you.
           No evil distractions
Many will deny you and betray you just to get
the benefit of a favor for self-gratification from
another person.
           No evil distractions
Many will shout and sing praises claiming they are
doing it in the fathers name but praying for your life
to waste down the drain.
           No evil distractions
Many will try to get close to you because they want
to hurt you and destroy you.
Let us be careful in our lives who we admit in and entertain.
            No evil distractions

People These Days

People these days.

People these days, their words don’t mean a thing
And that will never change;
Because they will always put themselves first.
Self-gratification, no matter what the price.

Beautiful people? Not on the inside.
Only ugly to look at, are the ones in which you should confide.
Because vanity and self-interest,
Mean no-one can be your confidant.

Everything is for sale! In fact we’re giving it away!
Gossip amongst friends, is today’s cheapest sale.
They told me not to tell, but I can’t keep this a secret.
When I tell you two this, you’re never going to believe it!

Well why would we want to tell anyone something so juicy?
Ok, but if they ask, you never heard it from me.
Hey, you’ll never believe what I just heard.
Yeah and she said that. She heard it from her.
