Oh my darling
My Sweet
Russian Queen
Mother of my home
Born of my dreams
Mother of my heart
Hope sewn through our seams
In our troubled history
Lost are we
Wondering
Whispering
Fallen Leafs
Tussling and rustling upon our street
Read and burnt beneath our feat
Angels caught in tears
Hope for happier years
Now silence weeps
Our Russian Queen
We never made it home
Back to thee
Oh my darling
My sweet
Russian Queen
Mother of my home
Born of my dreams
Mother of my heart
Hope sewn through our seams
Babooshka
Tiara karma sutra
The truth within your grace
Our life we sacrificed
Oh my darling
My sweet
Russian Queen
Mother of my home
Born of my dreams
Mother of my heart
Hope sewn through our seams
Babooshka
Tiara karma sutra
The truth within your grace
Our life we sacrificed
In our troubled history
Lost are we
Wondering
Whispering
Fallen Leafs
Gather Us All
Under Thee
Oh my darling
My sweet
Russian Queen
Wait for me and I’ll be back
Only wait for me,
When your sadness turns in black,
Yellow rains are free.
When the snows fall down like fate,
When there is a heat,
When the others cannot wait,
Don’t remember a bit.
Wait when from the far-far place
Letters cannot come,
Wait when they’ve got tired face
thinking all is gone.
Wait for me and I’ll be back,
Don’t be kind with those
Who in heart is turning black,
Who forgot and lost.
Let believe my son and mom
I am here no more.
Friends will say that I am gone
near fire in woe,
They will drink their bitter wine
to remember the soul,
wait. With them at the same time
Do not drink in mourn.
Wait for me and I’ll be back
in spite of any woes,
Who couldn’t wait and find my track
will say: lucky you both.
They will never understand,
When the fire got free
You have saved with faithful hand
waiting so for me.
How did I survive – we’re two
known. And no one tells
You could wait for me, just you,
Like nobody else.
P.S. This is my translation of poem of Konstantin Simonov. He was war journalist during World War II
RUSSIAN CHILDREN’S VERSE CONTEST ( FOR FIVE YEAR OLDS )
Oh, Ivan Ivanovich, your eyes are so blue and beautiful
And your mom is really cool and wonderful
If you want to come to my party Saturday
We can talk for ages and maybe even play
I’m writing this poem for you cos you’re ace
Please come early to my party at my place
By the way you know my friend Mitya -
Well, put him down as a prize winner, won't ya?
And my cousin Artem, well he can't really write,
But a prize would sure make his eyes shine bright.
Thanks, Masha Alexandrovna, I think your eyes are lovely too
I am going to give you a great prize or two
For such a good poem full of words and stuff, with skill
You even had stuff like endings - rhyme, if you will,
And almost every word was spelded correktly
I will be at your party at seven directly.
And sure - I will put Mitya in a high spot near you
And Artem can have a prize up there too
I don't recall seeing their stuff on paper
But that's just a detail of the whole caper.
