Boredom Flew

The boredom leaped into the wind _flew
Upon the summer clouds reaches the blue
Flies upward joining buzzards circling ring
So boredom's limits somewhat now askew

Augh!!!Augh!!!Brain freeze and fatigue

Romancing Summer

The sun is a shining,
My heart is a pining,
Bright summer is here,
The hammock reclining,

I'm going a swimming,
My heart is a brimming,
Cool water calls out,
I'm already dreaming,

Light flowers are dancing,
My heart is romancing,
With melting ice creams,
Summer is entrancing.

Summer

in the summer days of melting ice-cream
joy and laughter as the young players scream
delighting in the bays wet, ebb and flow
with not a care in the sun it would seem

The sand and breeze do not exact a low
but increase the pleasure as the young go
they laugh and build castles and abide time
enjoying the game when the sun's on show

running and diving they submerge in rhyme
the summer vacation a warming mime
a brief interlude that will soon be cool
encapsulates passing of seasons time

Summer Rhyme

Summer releases my inner child, with days spent freely running wild. Basking on sun kissed beaches and building castles with sand I've piled. Wetting a hook in fish filled seas, while casting my cares into the tropical breeze. Watching my eight year old son, master the art of angling with ease. And when the day is all but done and where the castle stood, there's none. With shovel, pail and tackle gone, the family looks out on a setting sun. 9/26/18

Summer Cycles

Sitting in the summer rays,
against what the doctors say,
I sip tea and look at clouds,
And watch children play

motionless days, long and lazy
Summer made fire skies orange hazy
but we know the good times won’t last
and the summer love won’t stay see,

because the seasons push on,
and like a hit summer song
they ring true for but moments and fade
and now then summer too is gone.

And in autumn we contemplate leaves
the colors that crowd the graves
and we reminisce the sun,
and ride the seasons waves.

Dog Days of Summer's End

It's the dog days of summer that endure
 burning deep into September's demure
when cooler temperatures and winds should blow
fostering the change of summer heat to autumn allure.

The humidity still clings upon the air to lay upon the skin
and pool water filters swirl where children spin
benath cloudless skies of brilliant hues of blues
even dogs sprawl upon the dry grass to roll and spin.

The summer harvest is ready for the picking
pumpkins, squash, corn and straw mixings,
a changing blend of seasons forever entwined
with one beginning and another ready to stop ticking.

Dog Days of Summer

From June (when the summer has just begun)
till August, I sizzle under the sun.
I bathe underneath it, soaking it in,
and even in fall, I will not be done!

The first days of autumn cannot defeat
my unbridled passion each day to greet
sun rays still blazing in autumn’s blue sky.
Through Indian Summer, I relish sweet heat!

Dog days of Summer, don’t give up on me.
Keep on through October, for I will be
basking in sunshine as long as I can -
and were it possible – eternally!

Magenta Skyline Cluster

First blush fountain azimuth of hued rays
wet patio shrub basket in the haze
zealous heartland tower cry as life force
celebrate and savour August rare days

Magenta skylines cluster silken clouds
blue ocean colour eyes that worship shrouds
a fancy surreal canvass so divine
it mesmerises jubilant bright crowds

Summer fun arcades stoke our dream world mind
gasps of red tint bliss a peak season find
earthbound poise dilates refulgent cascade
rocking beach tune fare blurs dark strain purblind

Sapphire plinths that anchor stoic ambit
vision on parade my high rise gambit
traipse amid the dahlia euphoric
seventh heaven rapture’s cloud nine orbit

Summer Treasure

SUMMER TREASURE
The crimson sun of demure dawn burns to show summer hasn’t yet gone, sapphire sky of noon still glitters, with the strong shimmer of its own. From the horizon hot wind blows, warm embrace on bowing leaves flows, sunburst streaks the lean trees filter, cool reverie grows on shadows. The southern zephyr at twilight wafts vivid hues of the dusk bright. On my canvas it spreads color, for me paints summer of delight. Through tepid air nightfall I see moondust dances in ecstasy in the glimmer of my mind where I treasure summer rhapsody.

Simple Pleasures

The aroma of fresh-baked bread,
The scent of a book yet unread,
Hints of spring in the air,
When the coldest winter’s fled.

An old song like a forgotten friend,
Over the din of a bar heard again.
A sunset’s liquid gold,
Splashed across sky, sea and sand.

The rustle of a fresh white quilt,
The fall of a lover’s hair like silk,
The queries of a little girl,
Made softly with a quivering lilt.

The mist from a sprinkler’s spray,
On a lawn and a hot summer day.
The notes of a saxophone solo
Weaving into the heart to stay.

Every moment carries a treasure,
To gladden the soul beyond measure.
Blessed are those who find
Contentment in each simple pleasure.

Summer Stay a Bit Longer

SUMMER STAY A WHILE LONGER

The burnt verdant meadows imposed,
While the summer sun fully exposed;
The joyful heat waves come and goes,
Songs with beautiful words composed.

Withered summer grass on display,
Obviously, the rain stayed clearly away,
Dark clouds of smoke far and wide,
I cannot breathe properly anyway!

Variety of gnomes in the garden shine,
Many climbing roses the bees confine;
The gazebo newly built an attraction,
This is the way for summer life as I define.

Why the rush for Autumn to come quickly,
The weather at is best suits the sickly;
Cool and chilled weather bad for the health,
So let us stay under the sun and play Dixie.

Dog Days Endure

Dog days endure

The happy summers beneath the turquoise skies
Unclouded sun as blazing chandelier comes to go glorify
Showering rays plentiful than august rains
Blooming bluebells roses in this season beautify

Stretching out for lounging in the pools
As earth's proximity to dog star sirius sucks away the cool
Childhood returns again as ice creams drip down the hand
Long lovely crimson hangouts exciting summer flaunts

Life seems an unending dream lasting forever
Fashionable tans and tank tops fill hearts and eyes with pleasure
Each moment a memory painted in pale canvas of passing life
Enchanting crepuscular rays of warm twilights keep extolling these days enclosure

Let Summer Stay

As summer ends it just seems wrong
to waste or hasten days along.
Let's linger just a little more
in summer's final cricket song.

When nature's dressed in bright decor
and frogs sing songs worth croaking for.
When nights are warm then lovers take
a moonlit walk upon the shore.

When days are spent in pools or lakes,
And grills are filled with flavoured steaks.
When state fair cotton candy's spun
We'll eat until our belly aches.

When kids chase lightning bugs for fun
And roam from home until they're done.
These memories we make are strong
so don't too soon wish fall begun.

The Warmth of Indian Summer

An encore of a beautiful sensation,
requested at the near start of summer's vacation.
To enjoy the last embers of light,
              Like a kite.
The summers slow ending is the right direction.

Slow down, just a little,
Cool air in all your brittle.
Indian summer is such a special time.
It's joy makes one want to fiddle.

A walk in amount fully adorned trees,
        is good for the knees.
The beauty of the flowers, a leap
        for the heart.
To see and hear them a breeze.

To jump an ocean wave,
     is for the brave.
Pictures of summer fun,
     gets a rave.
The memories last until the calendar
       turns to it again.
And it leads all to behave.

The Phoenix Rises Again

My friend summer heals us from oppression.
All of history makes this concession.
The ancient world knew him as the phoenix.
He snares up winter's unjust transgression.

The Greeks and Egyptians knew him quite well.
His healing warmth breaks the icy cold spell.
With the sun on his wings, ice and snow mourn.
The oppressed are free from the frozen hell.

Joyous song we sing in the warmth now here.
Rejoice do we; the phoenix did appear.
The atmosphere is safe thanks to his care.
And this is how it goes year after year.

Released are we when the sun bird shines bright.
Evil does flee from his heavenly light.
The season we call summer is with us.
Don't wish away its pleasure and delight.

Summer Rhapsody

Crimson sun of the demure dawn
burns to show summer hasn’t yet gone,
sapphire sky at high noon still glows
with shining shimmer of its own.

From the horizon hot wind blows,
warm ripple on bowing leaves flows,
lean trees sieve streaks of sunburst light,
ground weaves the lattice of shadows.

Southern zephyr of tinged twilight
wafts vibrant hues of the dusk bright,
spreads colors on canvas for me,
paints summer picture of delight.

Nightfall through tepid air I see,
moondust dances in ecstasy.
In its recess my enthralled mind
treasures the summer rhapsody.

Dog Days of Summer

DOG DAYS

The gnats of Summer days bring frustration
In your eyes, up your nose, so much aggravation
But they are to always be expected
So why create such a sensation

Enjoy the wonderful Summer days ahead
Without expounding on Winter days to dread
Days when we will wish we had some gnats
Regardless of the remarks previously said

Dog days and gnats go hand in hand
Just like beaches, surfboards and sand
Summer is a time for great relaxation
Days of vacation that prove to be grand

My suggestion would be take time to unwind
Commune with Nature and I think you will find
That Summer is perhaps the best time of all
For sheer carefree living and great peace of mind

Linger Awhile, Sweet Summer

Why should one wish the days to pass
Of lush and verdant meadow grass
And butterflies with stained glass wings
Which autumn's burnished hues outclass?

A summer breeze revives the mind
As worldly cares are left behind
And gentle waves of lapping seas
Coax weary bodies to unwind.

Await the golden harvest grain
But may lips linger once again
On luscious strawberries' sweet delight;
Resplendent fruit of summer's reign.

Life's hourglass is finely planned
Why hasten on the grains of sand?
Let scented roses fill the air
And summer's splendour take its stand.

Our Jankiest Summer Experience

My husband and I got a new RV.
A camouflage Polaris. No small fee!
Atop a mountain hubbie took that thing,
then stopped to rest himself beneath a tree.

He got up in a while, then made a groan.
It would not start; furthermore, his phone
was out of area. What could he do?
He stayed up on the mountain all alone.

At last somebody helped my husband, so
he was able then to get a tow,
which cost a lot of money. Anyway,
I hope next time he starts it, it will go!

The next day hubbie’s back looked really sick
because he’d had the janky luck to pick
up something as he lay beneath the tree -
it was an ugly big blood-sucking tick!

Endure the Last Days of Summer Rubaiyat

When the steam rises in the morn,
sun hot on body like reading porn,
salt cakes on skin that drips and stinks,
it's time to eat fresh crops of corn.

Humid air chokes breath with fire,
journeys plague--the need to pump tires,
the search for shade goes unspoken,
just plop down, read what's on the wire.

Blossoms sag heavy with pollen.
Animals huddle to back pen.
Mint's refreshment settles sad mind
over ice splashed with gin in den.

Day to day drags heavy on bones.
Salt taken with ham and corn pone.
All is slaked by the mental dream
take cash, run away, don't mind loans.

Cool sea splashes and bared bodies
are as soul good as hot toddies.
Climb aboard your board, sole captain.
Surf's cool free as winning lottery.

No Other Avenue

COVID-19 likes to hide, so self-quarantine inside. It isn't fatal for all but older people have died. Loose amidst the urban sprawl cold conceals its cat-like crawl. So summer may see a break, but it'll flare back up come fall. This pandemic outbreak starts with a cough and a headache. And yet, it's worse than the flu, elderly lives are at stake. With no other avenue, cruise ships lost all revenue. And nations shut down borders for commercial traffic too. Events closed by court order cause chaos and disorder. And isolation's change turns fear into a hoarder. Social distancing sounds strange and challenging to arrange. But, your life may depend on blocking bodily exchange. Float

It's late July and summer doth warn
My time is up as Heaven's horns
Trumpet down from the atmosphere;
They call to me as death's hand adorns

My foolish neck, no amount of fear
Could save me from that airless spear.
Oh how I've lived in fear of dying -
For years I've stared into the churlish sneer

Of the greed that led to man's untying;
A gavel rang of the Devil's lying
And man needn't fear death anymore.
But the souls of sixteen were His: tying

Yourself to the ground unwound the sworn
Oath to his property, and greed diswarn
As your parents, ageless, bat not a tear
At the floating of a daughter, unborn.

The world will turn on without me here.
Though elders don an avarice veneer,
I've accepted fate; triumphant flying,
As you watch me rise, hungrily austere.

My Summer

MY SUMMER

    In my region tropical summer
playing drama in script of hot grammar.
Yet rain storms appear to soothe and cool
soaking soil to harvest by farmer.

Sudden gust in blazing Sun, shiny Sky,
Stormy whirling wind went weepy n dry.
Summer hitting rough robust hot hammer
Birds seeking shadow, hardly dare to fly.

Tremendous scorching heat is trapped and caught.
Grass withers, dusty fields crack yielding drought.
I enjoy thunders of angry summer.
Roaring storms and floating clouds rushed and fought.

I eagerly long for summer season
Long day is the most attractive reason.
Hot summer boosting bubbling blood in flood.
        Passionate flame of desire arisen.
