Bliss roars, gripping us in rapture
Heightened delight, marks our stature
As of heart’s will, fierce or gentle
Love both our consort and teacher
Shaped upon the divine mantle
Presence beholds God’s miracle
Caterpillar now butterfly
Upon choosing pathways simple
Resting thoughts of how, when and why
Divine entwined, we wingless fly
Ceasing to size, we vaporise
Suffused with bliss, God soon draws nigh

Looking at the river in flow,
not stopping to wash the plateau,
I recalled the age-old saying,
the truth, a true friend one would know.
It’s long time at spring dusk we met
at river front, at hued sunset,
saw trust gleam in your godly eyes,
its lasting shine our bond would get.
Way out of distress I couldn’t find,
as my shadow you got defined,
your invisible hands held mine,
took me to light, I trailed you blind.
When I turned debris of sorrow,
how to rise again I didn’t know,
you came then like a butterfly,
with you I flew, wings I could grow.
The full moon flashed on river bright,
sense of my life flowed in delight,
we swam as one to divine sea
with the eternal shore in sight.

A flawless sapphire blue tanzanite sky
spurs the flight of a monarch butterfly,
discarding its colorless chrysalis
as summer's sunny rays intensify.
Waves tongue ticklish toes along the shoreline
licking at bare feet playing in the brine,
and laughs and giggles echo in the wind
as the magic of surf and sand combine.
The beach hosts a frenzy of sights and sounds
from frisbees to seagulls doing their rounds,
a cacophony of shrieks and clatter
as the children howl like a pack of hounds.
A yellow sun sparkles like a citrine
hung above splendiferous shades of green,
and I cool my sunburnt skin with a breeze
that smells of sweat and barbequed cuisine.
I revel in the dog days of Summer
set to the beat of a laid-back drummer,
for this unhurried pace is hypnotic,
although summer's end can be a bummer.

IN MY MIND FOREVER
Looking at the perennially full river,
Its water not stopping to flow ever
I remembered the age-old saying,
A truth, the true friends are forever.
Ages ago on the summer dusk we had met
On the river front, the sun was sinking to set,
I saw trust flow in colors in your intense eyes,
Knew, its lasting hues our friendship would get.
Way out of distress in dark times I didn’t find,
I found you like my second shadow right behind,
Your supporting hands strongly clasping mine,
Guided me to light, I followed you like a blind.
The sky fell, I was buried in the ruins of sorrow,
How to rise from debris of destiny I didn’t know.
You came to my wreck floating like a butterfly,
I learned to fly on the wings I could then grow.
The full moon made the water molten silver,
I saw the joy of life flow with it in the river,
We swam together till dawn under starry sky.
You’d be by my side, in my mind forever.
