Before you
I drifted at sea.
Always afloat,
Never anchored.
So is the life
a sailors'
Or pirates'
Wife.
When the tide went out
It left me behind,
But you were there
To sweep me
Off my feet.
The day you got caught
In the undertow
I too started
To sink below,
Cursed to ebb and flow
Eternally as the tides.
But anchored to you, I see
It was merely a rip current,
Anomalistic strong forces
That if you swim against
Only pull you farther.
And if we swim alongside,
We might make it back
As one.

I am happy for you dear fellow!
My teary eyes are glistening
My dear fellow, the large tides have turned
Into a Tsunami wave of God’s blessings
And you came inundated and submerged
Out of the dangerous rip current
Sideways you went, taking the straight path;
You didn’t vent.
Things went in your favor;most flavorful!
Amidst the utter anguish you suffered
Bouncing back like the light rays of the
Brilliant sun.
Forever beaming and streaming
Your gentle and kind personality
We stand in ovation and make a
Toast to you, my dear fellow!

He's your rip current -always will be
dragging you into deep water
into the foam of his death ego roll.
Squeezing the spirit and mind
pulling you into his cold dark beak
scrubbing the light from your eyes.
The only time he treats you right is when you're gone
but he's a bad actor-punk-predator...
My hand is always there-reach out from the deep blue.
I'll guide you to where the air ripples clean-
Where you deserve to be.

knots and weaves
windward gales quickly deceive
ever moving the undertow
constant curves dip in the winds and below
blowing off the waters deep
leaving a mist so sweet
hand to cheek
blue waters press further
possessed by the wind
willful turbines stay in sync completing the cycle
shaping and sculpting the swells
creating an undertow struggling to be free
choose to swallow in pleasure
choose to wallow with the pain
an answer returns with demand
beating fists upon the sand
the wind answers back with violent command
to the tides, to the swells, to the surges, hit the rip current
so powerful, so aggressive, she intimidates
all to catch the craze
ocean, she see's and waves
man is met
sized and weighed

Over the fruitful forests, I saw the trees
I hoofed over sleet, slush, ice, rain n' snow
On my any which way journeys
Wandering kookily at the yearn of heaven's glow
I bear on my back a bodily spirit flow
Whilst traveling in tracks undreamed of
In vasty wind depth visits, so
To kiss the creator's old sod of soil ruff
Many I saw, rip current ocean shores
Sunny and clear, potshot rain sprees
Great stones and rock on steepy cliff floors
Umpteen alpine in the deep forest trees
More than that, wild geese in clean blue air
In elevation over n' under
Heading home across the landscape fair
Hasteningly, avoiding hunter and thunder
In all my travels, I found no answers. Only wonder!

it's those summer walks alone
that bring me the most joy
the poignant sky slow kissing the ocean
blushing into little pink splashes
before the waves build and crash
cascading over rocky barriers
the endless miles of beach
unexplored by anyone
since the tide had receded
my prints, fresh, fading behind me
faster than i can walk
the little clusters of its bottom litter the edge
awaiting the next rip current to carry it back out
while a flock of gulls runs along
trying to pick through this rubbish
for an easy meal before its gone again
the air teases the senses with scents
of new and old, familiar, unfamiliar,
pleasant, unpleasant, mixed together
yet it becomes a pleasure somehow
the endless ebb and flow
and the unexplained roar
have a melancholy feel
like a song you never heard
you can feel the beat and hum along
without words....

her joints,
creaking plank wood,
nails,
shellacked, splintered,
dark
long
hair,
sargasso sickly sweetened
blue crab scuttled,
lips both
brown foam'd,
in
tidal moaning,
her boardwalk secrets
fallen,
on
her beach head,
sand dollars,
insteps
ebb,
sand bars exposed,
while
gulls cry
for clamshells
neap'd,
my bucket
never full,
those swelling
littorals,
leave me
only salt streak'd
in
cold
board shorts,
and
rough glass
foot cuts,
rip current-ed,
again.

I think God took you away.
That blissful- ancient mist of man.
Simply swept you up one day
with a big turtle hand.
Turned you into a pillar of marble,
in place of your warm, sweet skin.
Scribbled a few words to replace your smile.
Cold numbers in place of a shimmering rainbow... 1969-2001.
My nuclear winter...how devastatingly cold.
{gone}
Thoroughly hoed my Eden mind.
Velvet flowers uprooted by a R.I.P. current.
To make room for plastic words- plastic flowers
sprinkled with salt and sorrow.

Ocean my best friend.
With a broken heart i return to
you trying to mend.
Couple of drinks out in the sun.
Drunken bliss underneath a umbrella.
what the the prety young things run.
Sure im a bum what can i say.
But in the pressense of prefection.
Yes i can think of worse ways to spend the day.
lovers will break you.
The emotions like a rip current will take you.
But in its crashing ways I confide.
How sweet would be the moment with you by my side.
I drink looking acroos the unending view.
Lean apon it's sandy shoulder and question
what shall i do.
Fools search for the tressure that is above the ground.
I speak to you stil.
For even alone you are here.
By a fire I see lovers pass.
And i recall with fond reflection.
Her wicked passion and desire with a touch of sas.
alone i sit drink in hand.
feeling everything so deeply.
Emotions mixed with fragments of sand.
No matter are failures still we must reach.
For that spcial someone.
As i sit lost and broken reflecting apon the beach.
