Back Alleys

If some is good
more is better
Less is threatened
all enslaved

If more is reasoned
less is questioned
Good intentions
—hell repaved

(Dreamsleep: January, 2023)

Conception Deception

Cheap art
or excellent craft
You decide
what floats the raft

Good intentions
hell repaved
Choice emboldened
—heaven saved

(Dreamsleep: August, 2022)

Nation of Mistrust

As the leaders begin their power stride

A communion of separate opinions is established

Through sacrificial disgust, the sense of mistrust blossoms

Weariness of our commander, promotes our nationwide slander

Blazing off the political grease which clogs our arteries of need

Through the desire of greed, we all are victims of the lies

Misguided by the flapping flag

Once unison can be repaved, we will no longer be enslaved

For the country is led by more than just one

Haunted

The desires i once had,
Are no longer true.
So why is there the torment,
Of everyday life?
Of a past that still haunts.
One of anger,
Lust,
Destruction,
Pain.
People who never forget.
The cries,
The cuts,
The struggles.
People who only see,
The bad,
The worse,
The past.
Who is there to understand?
When will the immaturity,
Leave.
Because, desires once had,
can never be forgotten.
Wrong roads taken,
Are never repaved.
Costly mistakes,
Can never be re payed.

one is a 12 Verse Shisan.

A Night of Many Dreams

Thick low lying clouds
A slate gray extended dawn
Silent, with no wind

I put on two pairs of socks
Then begin making coffee

"Good morning," she says.
"Did you sleep soundly last night?
I had many dreams."

**

In the travel magazine
Stories of distant islands

Windows are open
Now that the snow has melted
Afternoons are warm

He is the first one this year
To see the apple blossoms

**

From the worn out road
(It's scheduled to be repaved)
Commuting to work

She cell-phones her closest friend,
"Stuck in traffic, in this heat!"

On the horizon
Clouds slowly accumulate
Over the forest

**

We tend not to notice change
When it happens step by step

He reads some stories
To his three year old daughter,
Her two favorites

Moonlight slips past the curtains
Under the door, down the stairs . . .
