Most folks attend church to worship and praise the Lord as a general rule,
But this is not necessarily the case for God-fearing Deacon Cletus O'Toole.
He religiously goes to church every Sunday to take a nap (such is his nerve!),
And partake of potluck suppers and to quaff the coffee and donuts they serve!

Religiously Toxic
I'm drowning in the
waste of a
compromised mind,
its been touched by
poisoned ideals and
thoughts
requesting me to
fall in line.
Don't they know
we came from the stars,
Who in the hell
do these ruling rule makers
think they are.
These church politicians
collecting God's Tithes,
folks going to church
paying to be fed lies
while pastors only interest is
in what sweetness that lies
beyond sister
Marie's thighs
Or the priest only
interested in the
youthful eyes.
While all along...
Making decisions
for us
about who we
should believe
we are.
Careers to push true faith
to the rear
what about the truth
do they
fear us to know and hear,
Well my inner self
you know
that intuitive voice
tells me to
bring into existence
this truth here!
These words
come from somewhere
so far deep in my soul,
that I have no choice to
believe it and follow.
Just be the
best you that you can and
leave the hail Marie's,
Collection plates and
confessionals
to the foolish man.
Thank you
for waking up today!

years upon years
nailed to the cross
rebirthed, oiled, and led to shine
it's time, it's destiny
trailed
where the good book sews
your sins to your cheek
none lesser, none weak
soapbox'd again and again
remembering only then
high priestess and his court
the showers a favourite sport
it's noon and he's high
strung up by the beads
and apostolic creed
I won't go back, despite
learning the wrongs of the right
left to simmer
in hell's kitchen
there'll be nun
of the usual pretense and precipice
I'll fall
from grace
Indulge in the human race
lust more than one god
the prick, the prod
the prude, the mighty
how rude and righteous
religiously unreligious
stripped bare, torn
the covers off
the bleeding books
run away
from the money,
damn crooks
and cooks
love me for who I am
for what I do
not some tit, sans wit
nor mind to word no more than
rehearsed verse
~
come seek,
we'll find

Oh, yes, I have been up since 3 a.m. which means I got 6.5 hours of sleep.
Hooray! Great Day! Wonderful to get to be happy, and not even a tiny weep.
I am going to a fabulous church I attended last week, to build myself up, and they did.
It's in another town, another state, it's a bit of a drive, in the middle of Gladstone, Mid.
My heart leaps with joy, at the thought of this upbeat congregation that fits me like a glove.
I like going to a place that's upright and positive, and concentrates on God is Love.
We don't talk about wars or strife, or famines or Lot's Wife at this church, a magnificent community.
Can you guess where and which church I am going?
Who knows?
You?
Okay. You then?
No one?
I'm going to Unity.

The iconoclast with great sarcasm,
tries to hurl the church into a chasm.
Pharisee of courts —
belching out retorts!
His religion of enthusiasm.

Never could there ever be,
an odder concept to perceive.
Long ago and far away,
he lost his life to pave the way.
It was to be the utmost act,
selflessly upon his back.
He did no wrong, he sayw no bad,
yet he would die for those who had.
While all of us still yet to come,
would owe our lives to "God" someone
