INGRATITUDE WALTZ
How could you give me such extreme distress
While my care for you has always been so strong
Did I not show where you were going wrong?
When you spent such toil on your pathetic writing
I enlightened you how you were wasting time
Put you straight and got you back again in line
The expression of ideas you took delight in
But you wilfully rejected all of mine
Your rebelliousness it really was a crime
Don’t you know that you need me to make your judgement
For yours is only giving me vexation
Can’t be trusted to make self determination
You would still be in religious cult induction
If I hadn't made a plan for your salvation
For your own sake had to use incarceration
With your protests diagnosed as bipolarity
Shrinks insisted drugs and ECT were kind
Would bring you to more compliant frame of mind
And yet you now show such a lack of gratitude
All my caring seems to be misunderstood
Yet I've always done what's purely for your good

INGRATITUDE
How could you give me such extreme distress
While my care for you has always been so strong
When you erred in thinking you were a success
Did I not show you, where you were going wrong
When you spent such toil on your pathetic writing
I revealed how you were wasting all your time
I put you right and helped you with my chiding
To get you straight and back again in line
The expression of ideas you took delight in
And wilfully disputed truth in mine
Why couldn't you conform and stop the fighting
Your rebelliousness it really was a crime
You would still be in religious cult induction
If I hadn't made a plan for your salvation
Though you fought and screamed that it was an abduction
For your sake we had to use incarceration
With your protests diagnosed as bipolarity
A psychiatrist said psych-medicine would be kind
Then a good dose of electroconvulsive therapy
Brought you to a more amenable frame of mind
And yet you now show such a lack of gratitude
All my caring seems to be misunderstood
And I find it hard to understand your attitude
Since I've always done what's purely for your good
Depends on whom you ask. Ask an adult
He might say, "a Christian celebration
Of Christ's resurrection."- religious cult.
A Man's literal interpretation.
An adolescent might say," chocolate
And colored eggs; a bunny, a bonnet.
A sugary excuse to celebrate."
A child's interpretation don't forget.
So, what do we do now? What is Easter?
The two beliefs are sound yet different.
The first, intangible. If you prefer
The latter, substance; a happy event.
In either case we all at least agree
Easter has arrived indubitably.
