Yield
We are all called to His Marvelous light
To be relieved of our sin and plight
Yet we doubt, delay and scoff
In a pride with the semblance of a huff
For we’d better hassle and bustle
But for how long will His Spirit tussle
If man shuns Christ for the seemingly premium
Mocking His teachings as the poor’s opium
Ever learning but veering from Truth
Ever unsettled but looking for something to soothe
You don’t believe in God whom you’ve never seen?
But you believe in your dreams never seen
You confess of gut feeling sure and clean
And other things out of scene
But is the unseen limited to your imagination?
Why is it widespread in proclamation?
What is that justice in our wish, will and bearing
What’s in that hope we delight in hearing
With that much faith that you wield
To God with speed be led to the need to yield
